Die Tour ist absolut perfekt, naja... fast! Sie könnte ruhig etwas länger sein, sagen wir etwa 3 bis 4 Stunden. Herculaneum ist zwar nicht so riesig wie Pompeji, bietet aber so viele Details, dass es schön gewesen wäre, bei der Führung wirklich alle Bereiche gezeigt zu bekommen. Bitte nicht falsch verstehen: Luciano hat wirklich sehr viel gezeigt, allerdings sind 2 Stunden einfach zu wenig, in Anbetracht dessen was dort zu sehen ist! Als Tourguide war er absolut perfekt, besser geht es nicht! Er führte mit einer Lebendigkeit und Begeisterung, die nur noch von seinem Fachwissen und seiner Art zu erklären übertroffen wurden. Ich habe noch nie bei einer Führung durch eine archäologische Stätte so viel Spaß gehabt und dabei so viel gelernt! DANKE, DANKE, DANKE, sollte ich mal wieder in der Nähe sein möchte ich wieder eine Tour bei ihm!! Gern auch Privat!

I took the 10:30 tour to avoid the worst of the heat in the afternoon. My first impression was simply "WOW" as I caught my first glimpse of the site from the top entrance, as I walked down the incline towards the ticket office. It is simply breath-taking. The tour was very well organised and I felt especially welcomed because I'm deaf in my right ear and they actually had a left ear earpiece. Our guide Luciano Leone was an archeologist and his commentary was just marvellous. He managed to combine humour, knowledge, interest in what we wanted to see as a group. He had worked on the site and had so many personal add on stories, he really brought the site alive for me. Great guide. It was a wonderful experience and I'm very happy to recommend this tour to everyone.

Our guide, Giovanni, was outstanding! He has an excellent knowledge of the Herculaneum site, of the Vesuvius eruption and how it affected Pompeii and Herculaneum, and particularly of the way the Romans lived at the time. He spoke clearly and made the tour very interesting, answering questions knowledgeably. He also looked after the group very well, ensuring everyone could hear clearly, and that we all walked through the site safely. It was a fascinating tour, made even more enjoyable by Giovanni's expertise. He is one of the very best guides we have experienced. I cannot recommend him more highly.

Guida a Ercolano ottima e molto entusiasmante. Ci è stato spiegato che il sito è in continua evoluzione e che gli archeologi hanno già fatto ulteriori scoperte e che tra qualche anno potremmo vedere anche i monumenti principali della città storia di Ercolano che ora sono ancora sotterrati. Inoltre guida super disponibile anche a chiarire eventuali dubbi o domande. Alla fine del giro siamo entrati nei musei di alcuni degli oggetti ritrovati tra cui statuette, gioielli, mobili d'arredo e persino una in'imbarcazione di 11 metri. Esperienza bellissima, io e il mio ragazzo torneremo sicuramente.

My tour guide was very cool calm and collected she gave us some great archeological insights whilst also making the tour interesting and relatable . It was never boring she went at a great pace to suit all - young and old and with different levels of fitness . This is more interesting than pompei in my opinion . The museum is amazing and you are taken through that and shown the best pieces . It was fun as well because she asked us questions and involved us 10 stars for me !⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our guide Luciano Leone is clearly experienced in and enthusiastic about excavations as well as frustrated by govt deciding to build museum over as yet unexcavated area!! He showed us fascinating details of Roman life and occupation before the disaster which overwhelmed them. Ther are so many original structures in Ercolano like wood and glass quite untouched and Luciano also told us so much about the contrasts with Pompeii that we were pleased to have chosen this one Thank you Luciano!!

Had an extremely knowledgeable guide who spoke good English and communicated well with all the party. The headsets were easy to use and efficient. Our guide started by explaining the difference between Pompei and Herculaneum and how those effected what had been found at the two sites. The museum was fascinating and the depth of the excavation is unbelievable.

Really knowledgeable guide around heraculum The tour was delayed start by two hours which was slightly inconvenient but couldn't be helped and we still enjoyed the guides enthusiasm and sheer knowledge of the guide:)

Getting started

Enter the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum using your priority entry ticket and proceed to the designated meeting point inside the site. Here you meet your expert archaeologist or language guide, in a group of up to 20 people. After a brief introduction to the site and its history, your 2-hour guided tour of Herculaneum begins.

What to expect

This guided tour focuses on the ancient Roman town of Herculaneum, preserved under volcanic material from the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 CE.

Walk through the streets of Herculaneum with your expert English, Spanish, French, German, or Italian-speaking archaeologist guide, who explains how the town functioned before the eruption and how it was preserved.

Use fast-track or skip-the-line entry, as per your selected option, to access the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum and spend your time inside the ruins rather than in the ticket line.

Join a small group of up to 20 people or a standard group of up to 25 people, depending on your chosen option, with headsets provided for groups over 10 people so you can clearly hear the guide’s commentary.

Follow a 2-hour route through key areas of the site as your guide highlights architectural details, everyday objects, and building layouts that reveal how people lived in this coastal town.

At the end of the 2-hour guided visit, your tour concludes inside the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, leaving you free to stay longer and explore on your own if you wish.
