Absolut phantastisch, das Personal war freundlich und kompetent. Die Fahrt herauf zum Gornergrat bietet auf jedem Meter tolle Aussicht auf Zermatt und das Matterhorn. Oben angekommen genießt man den Blick auf die vielen Gletscher und 28 Viertausender. Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis.

The ride is spectacular! As your trip progresses, the view widens on dramatic glaciers and beautiful mountain panoramas, including of course the majestic Matterhorn! The track itself with its multiple tunnels and viaducts is a masterpiece of engineering!

This is an ESSENTIAL trip for anyone visiting Switzerland. 'Stunning' doesn't do justice to the views you get, and it is surprising how quickly you climb out from Zermatt to see views to die for. Don't be put off if it's cloudy in the town, likelihood is the clouds will only be in the valley, and up above will be warm and sunny (as it was for us last week). I took the opportunity to hike down between two fo the train stations when we came down - probably the most beautiful walk I've ever done. 100% a 'must do'......

Die Fahrt bietet wunderschöne Ausblicke auf eine ganze Reihe von 4000ern. Die Bahn bringt uns in eine Hochgebirgslandschaft mit toller Rundsicht , Nähe zu den Gletschern und natürlich prominent zum Anblick und zur Geschichte des Matterhorns. Das Restaurant war allerdings überfordert, man musste lange anstehen. Vor Ort gelöste Tickets sind 10 Tage gültig und können an einem beliebigen Tag gebraucht werden. Bei Headout sind sie nur einen Tag gültig, aber die Bahnen akzeptieren sie 10 Tage lang!

The Matterhorn excursion left me breathless in the best way. Watching that iconic peak rise into the sky felt like stepping into a living postcard—one painted by God Himself. The crisp air, the quiet strength of the mountain, and the sweep of the valleys below made me feel both small and deeply held. It’s humbling to stand in a place where creation speaks so loudly, reminding me how blessed I am to witness beauty that feels almost sacred.

Was unsure what to expect but our journey to the "top" was a highlight of our time and made for the perfect day trip. We rode all the way up and the hiked down to a great lunch spot! The views were beyond what we expected. Would 10/10 recommend.

Sit on the right side of the train on the journey up for some of the best Matterhorn views along the route.

Ride along a glacier up from Zermatt to Gornergrat and back on the electric cogwheel train.

Die Aussicht vom Gornergrat einmalig. Eine Reise die sich immer lohnt. Der Kauf von Tickets per Internet ist jedoch nicht empfehlenswert. Der Kauf bringt zuviele Risiken. Dank einer Kassiererin am Schalter, die uns Tickets gab, konnten wir den Gornergrat besuchen ohne Nachzahlung. Der Kauf war auch nicht auf dem Portal der Bahn bestätigt. Nur der Nachweis auf dem Handy war vorhanden. Die Tickets wurden jedoch nicht akzeptiert vom Kontrollsystem. Rat der Kassierin am Billetschalter: Kaufen sie nie Tickets online, Wir haben grosse Schwiereigkeiten damit! Kaufen sie ihre Tickets bei uns am Schalter

I was worried that it was expensive for our party of 4 but when I think what we would have missed!! Fantastic few days with perfect weather. I would suggest checking the weather before booking.
