I've been to the Vatican Museums before, and both times have really been a great experience. The first time I had a 4:30pm booking on a weekday and the crowds were very little. There was still a line outside the museums we had to wait in, and another line inside to scan our passes. This time we booked with Headout for 8:30am on a tuesday morning. It felt much easier as we were escorted as a group through the lines by simply scanning our tickets. It was also not too crowded during that time! We personally wanted to have an entire morning and Headout had tickets left (The Vatican website did not) for those times. It was nice because we were not rushing at all. Definitely avoid the lunch hours to beat the crowds! Also they have a cafe/food area--lifesaver!

Very helpful and knowledgeable tour team. We had a minor hiccup where it wasn't immediately clear that we had to meet at the office to get our tickets printed. After we found the office we went to the Sistine Chapel and tried to enter. They told us our tickets were already "used" . I called your customer service number and the lady helped get new tickets printed aged the guy at the office ran them up to the entrance to where you enter the tour. We finally got in. We just did it as a self tour which was fine with us. Thank you very much for the great service. Brian and Rebecca B.

The Vatican Museums were absolutely incredible. The scale, the architecture, and the artwork are beyond impressive. Every gallery feels unique, from the beautifully painted ceilings to the detailed frescoes and historic masterpieces. The Sistine Chapel is the highlight, truly breathtaking and even more powerful in person. Even though the entrance line looked extremely long, our guide assured us we would move quickly, and we were inside in about 5 minutes. She waited for us at every security checkpoint and made the entire process smooth and stress free. Highly recommended.

Solo decir que muchas veces necesitas encontrar un profesional del sector turístico pues estando en otro país siempre te encuentras un poco inseguro y con dudas de si llegarás o no a tiempo a la visita programada. Desde la recepción en el punto de encuentro todo fue fácil pues la chica que nos recepcionó nos explicó todo lo que había que hacer y nos acompañó para conseguir los pases a la visita. Nos resolvió las dudas y nos despedimos ya faltando solo el paso de pasar al edificio. Muchas gracias por tu profesionalidad y trato humano.

Wat ons bezoek met Headout echt speciaal maakte, was hoe soepel alles geregeld was. Dankzij de snelle toegang konden we de lange rij bij het Vaticaan Museum vermijden, wat echt ideaal was. Alles was duidelijk uitgelegd en goed georganiseerd, waardoor we zonder stress naar binnen konden en volop van het museum konden genieten. Absoluut een 5-sterren ervaring!

Browsing the Vatican Museums was the most amazing experience. There were not extreme crowds which made the experience even better allowing me to make the most out of my time there. I enjoyed all of the different museums and how the different each one was. The Sistine Chapel was the most beautiful part and I will always remember my time there.

Borghese Gallery and Museum

One of the most exhausting aspects of exploring a new place as a tourist is undoubtedly the queues. Fortunately, with these skip-the-line tickets, you get to avoid all that bustle and stroll around at your own pace. The Borghese Gallery is located in what used to be the Villa Borghese Pinciana. The building of the gallery was added in with the gardens around it at first. The gardens, however, have become a separate attraction for tourists by themselves. With fountains, gardens, pink marble walls, and frescoed ceilings, the Borghese Gallery and Museum is a fitting place to house some of the world's greatest artworks. Find here everything from sculptures by Bernini and Canova, to paintings by Caravaggio, Raphael, and Titian amongst others.

Important Information

Access to the Borghese Gallery is regulated with a mandatory exit at the end of each time slot so tickets are limited and sell out quickly. Tickets will not be available on-site for purchase, especially for same-day entry.

Until the month of May, only two children are allowed access for a time slot.

Entry to the Borghese Gallery is free for people who are physically challenged as well as their accompanying guardian (carry a valid photo ID).

The cloakroom is temporarily located outside the Borghese Gallery.

Luggage storage at the Borghese Gallery is mandatory for items such as bags, backpacks, strollers or trolleys, umbrellas, selfie sticks, or other items whose danger or size is assessed by the security staff.

It is also forbidden to enter the Borghese Gallery with food, drinks (including water), and animals (with the exception of guide dogs).

For visitors with mobility impairment, the Vatican Museums offer free wheelchair hire from the cloakroom.

Fri & Sat: 8:30 AM - 8 PM (final entry at 4:30 PM).

Sundays are closed.

All the extraordinary openings of the last Sunday of the month are suspended.

Access to St. Peter's Basilica is free but there could be a waiting line during peak season.

The Gallery is open from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM every Tuesday to Sunday.

Dress Code

Please be dressed appropriately. Sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats are not permitted. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. Comfortable shoes are recommended.
