The guide, I didn't catch his name, dark hair middle aged, was extremely knowledgable and informative about the Michelangelo statues and told very interesting details about him, his life and his process. Very helpful for my art student daughter, and fascinating. He made sure we had plenty of time to study the pieces, a great privilege, and you could tell how passionate he is about the work. Entry was easy, after meeting the Florence with Elvis representative in the designated area next door, we were given new headphones and proceeded to walk past the long queue for entry, straight in to the academy. We were then able to spend as much time as we liked in the gallery after the tour, so my daughter enjoyed drawing David. A wonderful, memorable visit thank you.

Our tour was very pleasant and we were lucky enough to be a small group and enjoy the info and the beautiful paintings. Our guide, Elisa, was highly knowledgeable with a friendly attitude and easy going personality throughout the 1 hour long tour. She showed us the beautiful golden paitings, the statues and told us the stories behind, that brought us into the 15th century. Elisa was so documented that i still remember some details of Michelangelo's life that she shared with us. I'd recommend visiting the museum at the end of March when the season hasn't yet started and you can enjoy the tour at a nice pace.

Very friendly greeters from the company before the tour started. Nice to get to the front of the line, the regular line was very long first part of April. The guide brought us to the main highlights in the museum and gave plenty of information we wouldn't have otherwise known. Brought my family of 6, youngest being 12, all enjoyed it especially the first overwhelming view of the David.

Annette our guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and friendly. Her presentation was interesting and she has a nice sense of humor. The tour staff were prompt and helpful at the meeting area prior to entry. The museum itself was worth the visit. The main attraction David is magnificent and a must see. Highly recommend this tour!

The tour of the Accademia Galleria was magnificent! Our tour guide was so very thorough and informative. She guided us around the crowds effortlessly and ensured we saw the greatest works of Botticelli, Michaelangelo, etc. She got us to the front of each exhibit to get the best photos possible! Very excellent tour!

It is recommended to dress appropriately for a museum setting.

What’s not allowed

No luggage, large backpacks, helmets, or items over 40×30×18 cm; there is no cloakroom.

Food, drinks, and pets are not permitted (only guide dogs, service dogs, and certified therapy pets are allowed).

Flash photography, tripods, selfie sticks, and filming equipment are prohibited.

Mobile phones must be on silent or switched off inside exhibition spaces.

Accessibility

The tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Additional information

Arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time for security checks and to avoid potential wait times. Late arrivals may not be accommodated.

You can skip ticket lines, but all guests must pass through a security check before entering.

Note: On International Women’s Day (March 8), all women enjoy free admission to the Accademia Gallery, however, security checks still apply.
