Getting started

Begin your Kilim Mangrove kayaking tour by making your way to Kilim Jetty, where you can arrange your own toilet access if needed. From here, board the shared boat transport that takes you out to the local fish farm. On arrival, you will receive your gear and prepare to start the kayaking portion of the experience.

What to expect

Kilim Mangrove kayaking channels

This shared-group kayaking tour, conducted on a sharing basis, centers on paddling through the waterways of the Kilim Mangrove area. You will spend approximately 2 hours kayaking along the mangrove forests' narrow channels as part of the 4-hour experience.

• A paddle is provided for each kayak, and each kayak also comes with a 5-litre drybag so you can keep small personal items protected while you are on the water.

• Drinking water is included, with 500ml provided so you can stay hydrated during your time on the kayaks.

Bat Cave limestone cave

During the route, the group visits one limestone cave in the area, either Bat Cave or Chicken Cave. You will explore this section on foot after arriving by boat or kayak, depending on the flow of the day.

• The stop at this limestone cave counts as the cave component mentioned in the itinerary, with the route visiting either Bat Cave or Chicken Cave.

Local fish farm

A visit to a local fish farm forms one of the main land-based stops during the tour. This is also where your included lunch is served before you return to Kilim Jetty by boat.

• Lunch with vegetarian options available is included here as a fried rice lunch set, so you do not need to purchase a main meal at the fish farm unless you want additional seafood meals and drinks.
• Drinking water is available with lunch, and any extra snacks or canned or bottled flavored drinks at the jetty or farm can be purchased separately if you wish.
• Boat transfers between Kilim Jetty and the fish farm are included, so your round trip between the jetty and this stop is handled as part of the tour without extra transport fees.

Eagle watching area

Out on the water, your route includes an eagle watching stop at a designated area. This is a viewing segment conducted from the boat as you move between points in the Kilim Mangrove.

• This segment is reached using the included boat transport between the jetty and the fish farm, which also navigates through sections where eagles are commonly seen.
