Jul 20265/5Went with my partner for a day out to Jerash + Ajloun and honestly, it was EYE-OPENING. Our guide Tariq was a walking encyclopedia (not kidding, he knew the name of every crumb on these ruins). We started early (7:30am) to beat the heat – totally worth the alarm. Jerash is GORGEOUS in the morning light, not too crowded yet. Tariq let us wander on our own a bit which we liked, but then always had a story when we looked lost. Ajloun castle has some v steep steps, so maybe skip if ur knees are a mess. Stopped at this tiny roadside joint for tea – best cardamom tea I’ve had, so don’t miss it if u can. Pro tip: bring a hat, sun is no joke out there. Would do it again!Jun 20264/5Solo trip for me. Booked last min but the driver (Khaled) was chill about it. Car was clean, wifi worked, AC was a life saver. Jerash was packed (school groups everywhere lol) but the ruins are wild—like you can just walk around and touch stuff, no roped-off spots. Ajloun less crowded, views are EPIC on a clear day. Lunch spot was kinda meh, just ok. I’d say worth it but maybe bring snacks if ur picky.May 20265/5Our group of friends (4 of us) had a fab time! Our driver, Bassam, picked us up on time and even had cold water bottles ready. Jerash is like stepping into a different world, but Ajloun castle totally surprised us – the views from the top are UNREAL. We took soooo many pics (tip: climb the small tower for the best shots). Lunch at the little restaurant near Ajloun was yum, try the mansaf if you’re feeling brave. Only minus: traffic on the way back was a pain. Otherwise, worth it!May 20265/5We were a family of five (kids 8-14) and everyone had a blast. Even my grumpy teenager smiled at least twice. The guide, Rami, was super patient and explained history without making it boring. My youngest kept asking about the catapults at Ajloun and Rami just rolled with it. Jerash was crowded but we lucked out with shady spots. Bathrooms at both sites are CLEAN (for real). Bring extra water though, the bottles they hand out go fast.Apr 20264/5Visited with my dad who’s a big history buff. Jerash is super well preserved, like, you can still see the chariot marks! Ajloun castle is cool, but the inside gets crowded fast. Saw a group doing a photoshoot there, kinda funny. Our guide was nice but had a thick accent so sometimes hard to catch everything. Didn’t ruin the day though! Bring coins for restrooms.
