We totally enjoyed the whole visit , with clear instructions on where to go to retrieve our tickets and proceed to the dome queue first . That was an amazing experience and then afterwards we're in awe of the beauty of the Basilica . We got a couple of reminders the day before which were useful as everything you needed was at hand on your phone . That wasn't the case with every trip we booked so would highly recommend this one .

D'abord l'accueil de la resounsable au départ qui nous a indiqué tous les renseignements indispensables pour notre visite de la Basilique St-Pierre. Une entrée aux contrôles très impressionnante car nous avons vécu l'horreur à Rome sur d'autres sites! Franchement nous avons été impressionnés par la qualité du service de Head Out. Nous revenons souvent en Europe et vous êtes la meilleure expérience que nous avons eue depuis 12 ans!

Es war alles wunderbar. Der Treffpunkt war nicht ganz so leicht zu finden. Es wäre hilfreich, wenn man wüsste, dass man nicht nach Headout Ausschau halten muss. Es war eine sehr nette Frau, die sich dann auch um uns gekümmert hat und uns alles übergeben hat. Wir hatten sehr schnellen Eintritt ohne Wartezeit. Die Kontrolle ging auch sehr schnell und wir haben alles sehr genossen.

The directions on WhatsApp were excellent. We were easily able to find the entry point for our skip-the-line tickets. The Basilica was amazing. We were never offered our audio guide sets, but were prepared with our free audio guide by Rick Steves. This made our experience seemless and very memorable.

Die Engelsburg und der Petersdom sind beide ein einmaliges Erlebnis, und man sollte sich auch unbedingt die Zeit nehmen, beides ausgiebig zu besichtigen. Der Einlaß bei der Engelsburg war dank der Online-Tickets schnell und ohne Probleme möglich. Leider gibt es für den Petersdom nur einen Ticket-Voucher, welchen man erst am gebuchten Tag einlösen kann. Der in der Bestätigungsmail angezeigte Einlöseort ist ein belebter Platz, ca. 350 m vom Einlass zum Vatikan entfernt. Dort trifft man mit etwas Glück auf eine Handvoll Studenten (?), welche Kleidung mit einer eher allgemeinen Tourist-Info tragen. Lediglich zwei von ihnen haben ein Smartphone zur Kontrolle des Vouchers dabei und von einem zeitlich geordneten Abarbeiten der Wartenden kann auch nicht die Rede sein. Von daher hat es ca. 15 min gedauert, bis ich die ausgedruckten Tickets in Händen hatte, obwohl lediglich drei Touristen mit Buchungen vor Ort waren. Mit wieviel Wartezeit muß man erst rechnen, wenn deutlich mehr Andrang herrscht? Mit den Tickets klappte dann aber beim Eingang wieder alles tadellos; ob es unbedingt den Aufzug für das erste Teilstück zur Kuppel braucht, sollte man sich allerdings gut überlegen. Pro Fahrt nimmt der Fahrstuhlführer nur 10 Personen mit, bei Kinderwagen und/oder Rollstuhlfahrern natürlich weniger Leute. Dementsprechend lang dauert es unter Umständen bis man an der Reihe ist. Wer gut in Form ist, ist da mit Sicherheit zu Fuß schneller oben. Insgesamt gesehen ist es aber dennoch beeindruckend, was einem innerhalb des Petersdom an Kunstwerken und Geschichte geboten wird.

This ticket is a solid upgrade if you want to experience St. Peter’s Basilica without wasting time figuring things out on the spot—and the dome access is the real highlight. The “reserved entry” part helps, but manage expectations. Entry to the basilica itself is technically free, and you still have to go through security, which can take time during busy hours. What you’re really getting is a smoother, more organized entry process and often a host to guide you in, which is helpful in a place that can feel chaotic. The dome climb is where this ticket pays off. Going up St. Peter’s Dome gives you one of the best views in Rome—panoramic, unobstructed, and worth the effort. You can take an elevator part of the way, but there are still hundreds of narrow, steep steps, so it’s not ideal if you’re claustrophobic or have mobility issues. Inside the basilica, you get access to masterpieces like Pietà by Michelangelo and the sheer scale of the space is impressive even if you’ve seen photos. Bottom line: Worth it if the dome is on your list—which it should be. Just don’t expect VIP access; expect convenience and a better overall flow.

Der Petersdom und die Kuppel waren fantastisch und ich würde hierfür 5 Sterne vergeben. Es war ein einmaliges Erlebnis. 2 Sterne Anstriche aber für Headout für die mangelhafte Beschreibung des genauen Treffpunktes, der Abläufe wo man sich vor dem äußeren Torbogen aufstellt, wo dann drinnen, aber wann die violette Kennzeichnung erscheint etc. Nur weil ich häufig das Personal gefragt habe und mein Ticket in aufgedruckten Form immer vorzeigen konnte bin ich nach ca 1 Stunde am Aufzug zur Kuppel angekommen. Der Audioguide könnte noch auf dem Smartphone Bildschirm den Laufweg für die einzelnen Sehenswürdigkeiten anzeigen.
