What to expect
The renowned I Virtuosi dell’opera di Roma, an orchestra made up of top musicians from Italy’s leading conservatories, brings the brilliance of the Italian opera tradition to life on stage. This season, the ensemble presents La Traviata in its full glory — complete with stunning costumes and evocative sets — capturing the passion and drama of Verdi’s celebrated three-act work, based on a libretto by Francesco Maria Piave.
Set against the backdrop of 19th-century Paris, La Traviata follows the ill-fated romance between Violetta, a celebrated courtesan, and Alfredo, a young nobleman. From the moment their love begins, it races toward an inevitable and tragic end.
