Great baths. Wasn't over crowded, but it is touristy (everyone seemed to speak a language other than Icelandic). The lake at this time of year is partially frozen still but very lovely to see. The hot springs is fresh water and I felt was better for the skin. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Arrive at Vök Baths, located just outside Egilsstaðir. Check in at the reception and head to the changing rooms. Prepare to unwind in the geothermal waters while being surrounded by untouched Icelandic landscapes.

Designed to blend harmoniously with Lake Urriðavatn, Vök Baths is the largest geothermal spa in East Iceland. The facility offers a unique experience where natural purity and modern sustainability come together.

What to bring

Carry your swimwear and a towel, as they are required for entry to the pools.

What’s not allowed

Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are strictly prohibited.

Glass objects are not allowed on the premises.

Diving into the pools is not permitted.

The Vök Baths are located on the shores of Lake Urriðavatn, just a few minutes’ drive from Egilsstaðir.

Tip: Wear flip-flops to safely navigate the muddy and slippery areas around the pools.
