Getting started

Arrive at the venue near Asakusa Station and meet your instructor. After a brief introduction, you'll begin the experience with a celebratory Japanese tradition.

What to expect

• Kagami-biraki sake ceremony: Start with Kagami-biraki, a traditional sake barrel-opening ceremony often associated with celebrations and new beginnings. Join the group in chanting "Yoisho!" before raising a toast with sake. Non-alcoholic options are available.

• Learn the art of nigiri sushi: Under the guidance of an experienced sushi instructor, discover the fundamentals of nigiri sushi-making. Learn how to prepare rice, handle toppings, and assemble sushi using techniques practised by Japanese chefs. You'll create 6 to 10 pieces of sushi during the session.

• Interactive culinary experience: As you prepare your sushi, gain practical tips and insights into Japanese food culture. The relaxed, beginner-friendly atmosphere makes the class enjoyable for participants of all ages and skill levels.

• Traditional matcha experience: Conclude your culinary journey with a traditional matcha experience, where you'll enjoy Japanese green tea culture in a calm and welcoming setting.
