Visiting the Vatican Museums was honestly one of those experiences that’s hard to fully put into words. I expected it to be impressive, but I didn’t realize just how massive and intense it would feel until I was actually there. It’s not just a museum but it feels like you’re walking through layers of history, one room after another. What I liked most was how every section had a different vibe. Some rooms felt so grand and detailed that you almost didn’t know where to look, while others felt calmer and gave you space to slow down a bit. I caught myself pausing more than I usually would in a museum, just to take in the small details of the ceilings, the colors, the expressions in the artwork. The Sistine Chapel was definitely the highlight. Even though it was crowded and a bit chaotic, there was still this quiet sense of awe in the room. Looking up at the ceiling in real life just hits differently and it’s way more powerful than any photo you’ve seen before. That said, it can get pretty overwhelming. There’s a lot of walking, a lot of people, and honestly, a lot to take in. After a while, everything starts to blur together if you’re not careful. If I could do it again, I’d probably focus on a few sections instead of trying to see everything. Overall, I’m really glad I went. It’s one of those places that lives up to the hype, even if it’s a bit exhausting. Definitely something I’ll remember for a long time.

The first thing I did after arriving in Italy was visiting the Vatican Museums. It became one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Six months before my trip, I saw many photos of this place online. I could not imagine that one day in April I would be there in real life. Of course, the Sistine Chapel made the biggest impression on me. It felt like traveling in time. I had seen it many times before in pictures, but seeing it in person felt very different and special. I was also surprised that there were not too many people. Everything was well organized and the visitor flow was smooth. The staff were very kind. One security guard noticed that I looked a bit tired and told me that I could rest in the next room where there were chairs. It was a small but very nice moment. I remember that day very clearly. The grass was very green, the sky was blue and clear, and the people around me were friendly and positive. My advice is to come early and spend the whole day there. It is not just a museum. It is a place where you can feel history, art, and human creativity.

Visiting the Vatican Museums was a truly memorable experience. I spent several hours exploring the vast collections, starting with the Pio-Clementino Museum and walking through the stunning Gallery of Maps, where the level of detail is simply incredible. The absolute highlight was the Sistine Chapel. Although the museum was quite crowded and the flow of people through the corridors felt a bit slow at times, the atmosphere inside the chapel remained one of deep respect and awe. Seeing Michelangelo’s work in person is far more moving than any photograph. What made the day special was the sheer scale of the history and art surrounding me. Even with the large crowds, the visit felt well-organized, and finishing the tour with the famous Bramante Staircase was the perfect way to wrap up a memorable day

the skip the line tickets helped us get in in about 15-20 minutes, including the security check, which made everything a pleasant experience. the whole tour we did, a little rushed, took about 2.5 hours. we initially wanted to stay longer in certain museums and skip others, but we didn't know that to get to the Sistine Chapel for example, you have to go through all the museums, because you enter from one to the other, but somehow at the end of the day this was a good thing, because we saw (I think) everything. inside it wasn't overly crowded, except for the moments when we suddenly met 2-3 groups. we ate at the museum restaurant and the food was good and at an ok price. it was a superb museum and made our day wonderful

Aanrader om vlot in het museum te komen! Goed vindbare locatie om te verzamelen. Je meld je en krijgt een sticker zodat je herkenbaar bent voor de begeleider van de groep. Het museum en de Sixtijnse kapel zijn werkelijk prachtig. Enorm veel te zien. Een tip wat ons betreft: neem niet het laatste ticket om 17.30 uur. Tegen 19.00 uur waren we door de Kapel heen (we liepen met alle anderen er op ons gemak doorheen, er is ook waanzinnig veel moois te zien!) en wilde daarna het museum in. Dat ging niet meer. Tegen 19.15 uur sloten ze haast alle ruimten al. Tot 20.00 uur open, ja, maar je ziet dan maar 1 van beiden: de kapel of het museum.

Lo que hizo especial mi visita a museos vaticanos y capilla Sixtina con Headout es que estuve muy tranquila disfrutando una deliciosa comida y una exquisita cerveza cerca de los museos comimos mi familia y yo con mucha tranquilidad entramos a los museos vaticanos sin formarnos inmediatamente la hora fue excelente nos dió.tiempo perfectamente para disfrutar las pinturas y sobretodo de la capilla Sixtina hermosa sin prisas eso es lo que más valoro mi tranquilidad , había muchísima gente formadas perdiendo el tiempo en esas filas inmensas y yo tomándome una deliciosa Chela!!! Important Information

Leonardo Express

Departures are scheduled every 15 minutes throughout most of the day and are guaranteed even in the event of a strike, potentially with a replacement bus service.

One child between the age of 4-12 can travel free of cost with one paying adult.

With canine registration certificates and a proper safe carrier, you can bring your dogs, cats, or other pets free of cost.

Guard dogs are allowed on board free of cost.

There are no limitations on the number of luggage that you can bring along for the journey.

Leonardo Express trains are accessible to travelers with reduced mobility.

Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel

Please note the chosen time must be respected and latecomers would not be accommodated.

Dress Code: Please be dressed appropriately. Sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats are not permitted. Your head, knees, and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. Comfortable shoes are recommended. We recommend you carry a shawl or a scarf to cover your head.

People with wheelchair disabilities get free entry. The Vatican Museums offer free wheelchair hire from the cloakroom.

The Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (with certified disability exceeding 74%). Additionally, in the case of visitors lacking in self-sufficiency, free entry is extended to their companions.

Certification of disability must be shown before the issue of the entrance tickets either at the Reception or at the Special Permits Desk, located in the entrance hall of the Vatican Museums.

Restrictions

Late arrivals will not be accommodated.

The tour assistants will help you enter the Vatican Museums and services will end with the ticket delivery at the entrance (lobby) of the Museums.

It is not recommended to bring strollers to the Vatican Museums as there are multiple staircases across the museum.

There is a security check at the entrance of the Vatican Museum.

Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

Your tickets are timed so you must enter the Colosseum at the time slot selected at the time of booking.

Guests have a flexible entrance to the Palatine and Forum at any time during their selected activity date. The tickets for the Palatine and Forum will remain valid for an additional 24 hours after the Colosseum entry time is selected during booking.

Child tickets are open-time and their entry depends on the Adult visiting with them.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE. Re-entry is not permitted with the same ticket.

Please note that entry to the Colosseum is free on the first Sunday of every month.

It is recommended to wear comfortable attire and walking does as there is a fair amount of walking involved.

Please note the chosen time must be respected and latecomers would not be accommodated.

The attractions remain closed on 25 Dec and 1 Jan.

You will be denied entry if you do not carry a valid ID or passport with you and present it at the time of entry if requested.

For safety and security reasons, no large backpacks or pieces of luggage are allowed inside the Colosseum.

The mandatory security check can take 30 min or more. To make the security checks quicker, please insert any object (including mobile phone) in the bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray.

No storage facility is available. You can, however, take a baby stroller into the Colosseum with you, should it be necessary.
