Het Bargello was voor mij een heel onbekend museum. Maar na bezoek zou ik het iedereen aanraden. Het is prachtig opgezet, en vriendelijk personeel . Er zijn echt hele bijzondere stukken. Ik was er vrij vroeg maar mocht na controle door.

Easier to book than via the actual museum site. Bargello is very special and much calmer than some of Firenze's other tourist hotspots. All round good experience.

The Bargello is one of the greatest collections of sculpture anywhere. Buying tickets through Headout was difficult, especially as I had a group of nine and I was only able to buy 8 tickets. There was also some difficult in accessing the tickets as there was no internet access in the reception of the building. How stupid is that!

Palazzo Vecchio

Museo del Bargello

Today it is home to one of the most important collections of Renaissance sculptures in the world. This includes works of art by Michelangelo such as Bacchus, Brutus, and David Apollo. You'll also get to see Donatello's St. George Tabernacle and David, the first male nude statues since classical antiquity. This palace is also the seat of the city council. Unfortunately, this means that on certain special occasions when institutional ceremonies are scheduled, the museum may be totally or partially closed to the public.
