Ho voluto vedere il museo perché i BTS ci hanno girato il video di "swim", il motivo era quello. Ma quando sono entrata sono rimasta a bocca aperta. Il museo è bellissimo, è tenuto veramente bene. Da visitare assolutamente quando si va a Lisbona!

The Maritime Museum in Lisbon was more than a hall of artifacts; it was a portal. I was lured here not by caravels, but by the echoing visuals from BTS’s music video . Standing before the grand compass and intricate astrolabes, I felt a surreal connection—a tangible link to the very symbols of exploration and fate that dance in their music videos. It wasn’t just history; it was the realization of a powerful metaphor. Each model ship felt like a vessel on a destined journey, making our visit an unexpectedly profound, and deeply memorable, pilgrimage.

Easy to navigate website, instructions clear to venue, efficient check-in at museum, taking photo of ticket was easy to use at venue checkin.

Located in the beautiful 16th-century Jerónimos Monastery, this huge museum celebrates the fascinating history of Portuguese navigators. You will learn about famous explorers who expanded the world as we know it with their great discoveries. You set out on a great adventure to explore the age of the Discoveries and the evolution of the Commercial & War Navy. The oldest exhibit here is a wooden statue of Archangel Raphael that accompanied Vasco da Gama on his voyage to India. Be prepared to be enchanted by over 17000 items that give you a peek into the Portuguese power and conquests. You’ll come across iconic masterpieces like a rowing boat decorated in neo-Viking style in 1780, the model of the Amélia royal yacht prepared in 1900, nautical astrolabes & the Santa Cruz seaplane, the first seaplane to fly over the ocean in 1922! There is much to discover at this naval treasure house with even a special section for children.

Maritime Museum Lisbon has free entry until 2pm on the first Sunday of every month

Facilities: Lockers, Wheelchair Accessibility, Pram/Stroller Accessibility, Cloakroom.

Free days: 1st Sunday of each month, Navy Day, Apr 18, May 18 & Nov 16

Children's Day (June 1) has free entry for children 12 & under
