Arrive at the slopes of Mount Etna and meet your guide who will guide you to the trekking path on the volcano. Start climbing towards the top of some of the 7 so-called lateral craters formed during the 1865 eruption, creating an amazing "button shapes" effect. This means that several cones in succession are aligned on the eruptive axis of the volcano as if they were buttons. Dip into the special atmosphere that marks out the area between pyrocasltic materials produced by the volcano during the explosive phase of the eruption, such as scoria, lapolo, and volcanic bombs. Spot natural, splendid tree species such as the betula aetnensis, a kind of birch that usually grows in North Europe and is found only on the North side of Mount Etna.

Along your hiking route, if lucky enough to have a sunny, clear day, be blessed with incredible panoramas from Calabria to Taormina. Sometimes, its even possible to see Stroimboli Island! After this pleasant hike, indulge in a refreshing lunch with typical Sicilian products on the Etna, making this experience more special. The lunch includes a 3 course meal, with beverages, afterwhich spend about an hour on your own, around the area, before heading back to Taormina or Giardini Naxos.
