Getting started

Head to the Fuente Dé cable car lower station and present your one-way or round-trip cable car ticket, depending on the option selected. Once your ticket is checked, proceed directly to the cabin boarding area. Keep your ticket with you for the entire visit, as staff may request to see it again during your time at the installation.

Located in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park, the Fuente Dé cable car carries you from the lower valley up to an altitude of 1,823 meters, overcoming a height difference of 753 meters.

Features

During the 3 minute 40 second cable car ride, the cabin travels at up to 10 m/s along a cable length of 1,450 meters, with space for up to 20 passengers per cabin. This rapid ascent gives you elevated views of the surrounding Cantabrian Mountains.

Your access to Fuente Dé cable car includes compulsory and civil liability insurance that covers the possible risks of travelers during the journey and inside the installation.

With your one-way or round-trip cable car ticket, depending on the option selected, you can choose either the Round-Trip Cable Car Tickets variant or the One-Way Cable Car Tickets variant to match your plans in the Picos de Europa.

At the upper station you can step onto the upper station balcony, a viewing platform with a panoramic outlook over the Cantabrian Mountains and the Picos de Europa. This is where you can capture memories from the viewing balcony.

Access to Fuente Dé cafeteria at the lower level, with capacity for 200 diners, lets you pause for refreshments before or after your ride. At the upper station, access to El Cable cafeteria, which can host up to 150 people, gives you an indoor space to sit and look out toward the mountain landscape.

If you are traveling with animals inside a pet carrier, you can use the pet storage service at upper station to leave the carrier safely while you explore outside the building in the national park environment.

What’s not allowed

Pets without carrier: Pets are not allowed in the cable car unless they travel inside a suitable pet carrier.

Loose pets in cabins: Transporting animals outside their carrier in the cabins or stations is strictly prohibited.

Dangerous dog breeds: Dog breeds classified as potentially dangerous under local regulations cannot be transported.

Littering: You must not leave litter in the Picos de Europa National Park and must use designated bins.

Food and drinks: Food and drinks are not included and may not be consumed outside designated cafeteria areas.
