Your Experience

When in Kyoto, do as the tourists often do - dress up in traditional kimonos and explore the city streets! Head to the Shijo Main Store and pick up a high-quality kimono that is made exclusively in Japan. The charming little store is known to have a collection of 700 authentic and classic kimono styles. What’s more, friendly staff members will assist you on how to wear your kimono, and a special setting master will help you set your hair! Once you’re all decked up, you can enjoy a day out in the city dressed like a local.

Important Information

If you have valuables with you, it is best to keep these in your person while sightseeing around Kyoto. The store does not take responsibility for damages or loss of property
This experience is not suitable for pregnant women
There is a parking lot nearby but there is no tie-up, so please use public transportation if possible

You can opt for additional costumes and services (tax included) that can be paid for by cash at the store. These include:

Hair set (with hair ornament): 1650 yen/person
Band tie for women: 550 yen (tax included)/person (free for men)
Haori/shawl for women: 550 yen/person
Return to the store the next day: 1,100 yen
Return to the hotel: 1,650 yen. You can return your costume at the hotels in Kyoto. The store will hand you a red bag, please return your costume in it at the hotel reception
