This was a fun experience and an entertaining way to learn some of the history of Edinburgh. More of a haunted house vibe than a history walk and that was just what we were looking for.

    Just head to The Edinburgh Dungeon entrance and show your ticket. There’s no set entry time, so feel free to drop by whenever it suits you. Once scanned in, you’ll be guided inside to kick off your journey through the city's shadowy past at your own pace.

    Forget dry history tours. The Dungeon turns Edinburgh’s darkest tales into hilarious, creepy theatre, complete with live actors, spooky sets, and unexpected laughs. It’s a mix of storytelling and scares, perfect for anyone who likes their history with a twist.

    • Drop-dead ride: Feel the adrenaline rush as you plummet on the Drop Dead ride, a spine-chilling finale simulating a 30-meter fall at Edinburgh Dungeon’s Grassmarket gallows.

    What's not allowed

    • Sharp metallic tools or objects, drones, alcohol, smoke bombs, fireworks, glass bottles, illegal substances, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, large bags are not allowed on this experience.

    • Due to venue restrictions, pets cannot tag along for this experience.

    • Photography is strictly prohibited at the venue.

    • Safety is a priority so this experience is restricted for guests under the age of 4 years.

    • Entry to kids under 15 without guardians is not included with these tickets.

    Accessibility

    • Elevators are available at the venue for easy access.

    • People with back issues and pregnant people are restricted from participating in certain shows of this experience.

    • Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.
