Did this trip solo and honestly, it was the HIGHLIGHT of my week. Boat was just the right size, not packed, and everyone got a window seat (so rare!). The guide, Nuno, was hilarious and knew soooo much about the river. Lunch was legit the best meal I’ve had in Portugal—fish was fresh and they kept bringing bread. Train ride back was cute but yeah, a bit noisy. Would totally do this again.

Was a bit worried about the weather but it held up, thank goodness. Went with my girlfriend and her parents, and we all found something to love. Boat was comfy, views were EPIC, and the staff kept our glasses full. Lunch took a while to come out, but honestly, it gave us time to chat and relax. Only downside: the train was late by like 20 mins.

What a day! Booked this as part of our Portugal road trip and so glad we did. The guide, Ana, was super knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. The boat ride was smooth, and we even saw a couple cranes along the river. Lunch was way better than expected. I don’t usually even like fish but this was delicious. Highly recommend.

My family (kids 10 & 13, plus grandma) did the river trip and it was FANTASTIC. Guide made the history super interesting for my kids (even grandma stayed awake lol). The village for lunch was charming, and I loved all the little details in the restaurant. If you do this, bring a hat—the sun can be sneaky. Def worth it!

We came as a group of 5 friends and had a blast. The guide, Jorge, was super funny and told us stories about the valley. Boat wasn’t crowded, which I really appreciated (hate packed tours). Lunch was more food than we could finish! Watch out for steep steps to the restaurant. Would go again!

Hmm, mixed feelings. The river is beautiful, but our boat didn’t have a guide and I was hoping for more info about the vineyards. Lunch was tasty but kinda basic. Train ride was a nice surprise though, with great views.

What’s not allowed

Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed on board for safety reasons.
