Volubilis offers some of the best-preserved Roman ruins in North Africa. Intricate mosaics, grand arches, and remnants of temples and villas reveal the scale of a city that once thrived on trade and olive production. It's one of the few places where Morocco's Roman past feels vividly alive.

    What our guests say

Went with my mom and little bro, and honestly, the landscapes on the way to Volubilis were GORGEOUS (like, green hills for dayzz). Our guide was super chill but sorta rushed us through Moulay Idriss—woulda liked more time to snap some photos. Van was comfy tho, AC worked fine. Bring snacks, the lunch spot is just ok and a bit touristy. Still, learned a ton and would prob do it again!

Can’t believe how cool Volubilis is IRL. Went with friends, just 4 of us, and our driver Youssef was a LEGEND. He played Moroccan music the whole way, stopped for fresh oranges at some roadside stand. Volubilis itself—wow, those mosaics are like, still there after all these years! Sun was strong so bring a cap. Maybe too many groups at the ruins but loved it anyway.

Honestly, was expecting more English commentary. Our guide switched back and forth but sometimes just stuck to French. My husband speaks both, but I don’t, so I missed some of the jokes/stories. Views: 10/10, especially from the top of Moulay Idriss. But yeah, bit of a language barrier for me.

Family trip with my teens—big WIN! Volubilis ruins blew them away (and they usually just stare at their phones). Guide gave fun facts (like, lions used to live here??) and let the kids climb around a bit. Lunch couscous was the best we had all week. Highly recommend for families, just wear decent shoes, the stones get slippery if it rained.

Went solo, joined a group of 10. Everyone was friendly, guide was funny but sometimes talked soooo fast I barely caught half what he said. Still, I liked wandering Meknes on my own, ended up buying this weird mint candy from a street seller. Weather was perfect, not too hot. Would’ve loved more free time in Moulay Idriss.
