Board the iconic TranzAlpine train, crossing the majestic Southern Alps and disembarking at Arthur's Pass (in winter months) or Greymouth (in summer months). From there, meet your Cheeky Kiwi tour guide and board our modern Mercedes Sprinter to journey back to Christchurch, exploring waterfalls, alpine villages, and Castle Hill along the way. Travel in comfort, capture incredible photos, and create unforgettable memories.
The departure time and itinerary for this tour differ slightly depending on the season you are travelling.
Summer (1st October - 30th April): Travel to Arthur's Pass on the bus and return on the Tranzalpine train, arriving back in Christchurch at approx 7:30pm.
Winter (1st May - 30th September): Travel to Arthur's Pass on the Tranzalpine train and return on the bus, arriving back in Christchurch at approx 5:00pm.

What to bring

Bring suitable clothing for alpine conditions and walking, especially if you plan to participate in the Devils Punch Bowl walk.

What's not allowed

Each guest may bring up to two pieces of luggage, with a maximum weight of 25kg per item and size limits applying.

Accessibility

Some walks on the tour, such as the Devils Punch Bowl walk, require low to moderate fitness and may involve uneven or challenging terrain.

Additional information

Tour duration and itinerary differ by season: from May to September, you will disembark at Arthur's Pass and return around 5:30pm; from October to April, you will disembark at Greymouth and return around 8:00pm.

Children aged 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.

Car seats for children under 8 are strongly recommended and are available as an extra.

Please be ready and waiting 5 minutes prior to your pickup time at your selected location.

Tour commentary is provided in English, and multilingual commentaries may be available on request.
