The Dali museum was high on my list- and it did not disappoint. The bold art, gorgeous design, and the sheer amount of Dali's work is breathtaking. The crowds are a bummer but just try to go away from the large groups. It's worth it.

The paintings by Dalí are truly impressive, and the building he had designed is equally spectacular and imposing. The museum itself is definitely worth a visit for both the art and the unique architecture. However, I was a little disappointed that there was very little information available about Dalí and his life on site. Without booking a guide, it was difficult to learn more about the artist and the background of his works. A little more written information would have made the visit even more interesting and informative.

We visited the museum as a family, and it was a truly one-of-a-kind experience. My wife and I captured the amazed and intrigued expressions on our daughters’ faces as they stood before Dalí’s surrealist works. The visit reignited our imagination and love for art. I recommend that all families with teenage children visit the museum and learn about Salvador Dalí’s life, his era, his loves, and his works.

Very good service from the museum staff. We arrived earlier than our scheduled time and had no trouble getting in for our visit. We missed having an audio guide available to visitors or more guided tours during the day. A genius like Salvador Dalí needs to be explained more on an educational level.

Museum had so much of Dali's work to see. It is a true immursion into Dali and his ideas. We went later in the day so it was not as busy but at times I had to wait to get closer to a certain piece. The building itself is a work of art and quirky like Dali's works. If you are in this area of Spain it is well worth the admission price.

What to expect

Dalí Theatre-Museum

Conceived and designed by Salvador Dalí, this museum is often called the world’s largest surrealist object. Its centerpiece geodesic dome crowns a space where Dalí’s vision unfolds across rooms, installations, and his final resting place.

What’s not allowed

Smoking, drinking, eating, and touching artworks are prohibited inside the venue.

Objects larger than 35 x 35 x 25 cm, rucksacks, bags, umbrellas, and pushchairs are not allowed on this experience.

Handbags and backpacks will be searched at the entrance checkpoint. For safety and security reasons, objects deemed potentially dangerous (knives, penknives, etc) must be collected at the end of the visit.

Due to venue restrictions, pets cannot tag along for this experience.

Professional photography is strictly prohibited at the venue. You need prior permission for shoots.
