Everything was clear and helpful from the beginning. I set up our trip the night before using WhatsApp. When we got to the harbor, we hung out in a nice room with a cool whale display while everyone gathered. The boat was just right—not too big, comfy both upstairs and downstairs, great for seeing stuff. Our guide was awesome, shared a lot but didn’t overdo it. We first saw a couple of whales, then zipped over to check out a huge dolphin pod—so cool. Coming back closer to shore, we got lucky and saw a female Southern Right Whale and four males chasing her. Just whales everywhere you looked. Awesome outing!

The best companies really leave you satisfied, but the so-so ones just stick to what their rules say. I accidentally reserved a spot for five people in our group (old habits) months back, but when we got to the counter, I realized only four of us were actually coming along this summer. Totally my fault, but it would've been nice if they'd offered something for the extra ticket instead of just repeating "company policy" over and over.

We hopped on the earliest boat from the harbour, left at 7am right after the quick office briefing. Headed out about 800 meters into the middle of Walker Bay, ride took maybe 15 minutes or so. Not long after, we spotted the Southern Right whales. If you wait it out, you might get lucky—like us, a mother and her calf swam right up next to our boat. Really cool moment. The water was pretty choppy, boat rocked around quite a bit.

Bit of a letdown, honestly—we just cruised along the shoreline and watched a mother whale with her baby for about an hour. That was all we saw. The intro talk made it sound like there’d be more action. The guide must’ve known ahead of time what to expect, since there were two other trips before ours. Other than that, it was alright and the team was friendly.

Took a boat trip to look for whales. The price is about the same as the other whale watching companies. Overall it was just okay, feels a bit pricey for the amount of time you actually spend near the whales. I'd recommend bringing some binoculars (with a strap), could help spot the whales better and make the trip feel more worth it.

Warm layers: Wear warm clothes and a windbreaker, as it is cooler and windier on the water.

Sun protection: Bring sunblock and sunglasses to protect yourself from sun and glare on the bay.

Food and drinks: Bring your own food and additional drinks if you would like extra refreshments.

Camera: Bring a camera to capture whale sightings and views over Walker Bay.

Seasickness: Bring anti-nausea medication and take it the night before and two hours before the trip if needed.
