We got there before 10 o'clock, and there were just a reasonable number of people there. An hour later, we would have ended up with a crowd. The Klimt collection is magnificent, but there are many other noteworthy paintings. We loved the Herman de Vries Lavender exhibit too. The Botanical Garden is huge and very relaxing.

We only had two days in Vienna, so getting into the museum quickly and without waiting in line was crucial. It saved us time, we really enjoyed the experience, and we even made it to our flight home! 😁

The 9:00 Upper Belvedere Palace Direct Entry Tickets enabled us to enjoy the garden in front of the Palace before the entry and appriciate Klimt's works including 'The Kiss' without the crowds.

La visite avec l'audioguide est très intéressante. Je la conseille vivement. Nous avons passé 3 heures très agréables. Les tableaux baroques sont magnifiques.

El lugar elegido en primer lugar fue muy acertado ya que es un palacio y conjunto barroco en un enclave precioso, la Historia hace que sea un referente en la capital vienesa. La visita no se hizo esperar y la entrada fue muy ágil sin esperas. El precio de la entrada es moderado y más barato que en la taquilla (donde hay que hacer cola). En el museo hay cuadros de artistas famosos por lo que el visitante va preparado para observarlos y recrearse en salas que ya de por sí son estupendas, llenas de decoración, destacando los mármoles de colores. Hay cuadros y composiciones de arte contemporáneo que son originales y que junto con la exposición temporal actual dedicada a Johann Baptist Lampi (con cuadros como la Venus) me llamaron enormemente la atención. En conjunto la visita fue totalmente satisfactoria

Belvedere Palace was one of my favorite places to visit in Vienna. The palace is absolutely beautiful, and the gardens are lovely, especially on a sunny day. The art collection is also impressive, with Klimt’s “The Kiss” being the highlight. It can get quite busy, but the atmosphere is still great and there is plenty to see. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Vienna!

En el museo hay cuadros de artistas famosos por lo que el visitante va preparado para observarlos y recrearse en salas que ya de por sí son estupendas, llenas de decoración, destacando los mármoles de colores. Hay cuadros y composiciones de arte contemporáneo que son originales y que junto con la exposición temporal actual dedicada a Johann Baptist Lampi (con cuadros como la Venus) me llamaron enormemente la atención. En conjunto la visita fue totalmente satisfactoria

The Vienna Spanish Riding School Exercise session was very informative and worth the experience. The tickets were reasonably priced and easy to obtain through Headout. Photos of horses and riders were not permitted at the Vienna Spanish Riding during the session. Just a point to note that the Belvedere Palace and the School are not in the same locations and therefore if you purchase the combination tickets, and you are using public transport, you need to leave approximately an hour between each booking to allow you to travel to the next location and walk ( depending on which transport you choose) and especially if you are limited in walking. There is a tram that stops outside the Belvedere, however, due to road works on our visit, the route had changed slightly. Overall a nice day out.

Enter either the Upper or Lower Belvedere Palace with your combo ticket. Both are part of a UNESCO-listed complex known for its grand design, landscaped gardens, and historic significance—including the signing of the Austrian State Treaty.

Upper Belvedere Palace

Built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the 18th century, the Upper Belvedere was later transformed by Empress Maria Theresa into one of the world’s first public museums. Today, it houses an outstanding art collection across centuries and movements.

Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss: See one of Austria’s most iconic paintings, part of the largest Klimt collection in the world.

European masters: Admire works by Schiele, Monet, Rodin, and Van Gogh, along with pieces from the Baroque and Biedermeier periods.

Architectural splendor: Wander through frescoed ceilings, marble staircases, and ornate salons that reflect Viennese grandeur.

Lower Belvedere Palace

Once Prince Eugene’s main residence, the Lower Belvedere blends stately living with artistic legacy. Today, it hosts rotating exhibitions in a series of richly decorated rooms.

The Hall of Grotesques: Discover playful 18th-century ceiling and wall paintings preserved in their original form.

The Marble Gallery: See stucco war trophies celebrating Prince Eugene’s military victories.

The Gold Cabinet: Marvel at golden walls and mirrored panels, intact since 1765.

Palace Stables: Explore rare Medieval artworks on display in a former royal stable.

Upper Belvedere Palace

Entry to the Upper Belvedere Palace is scheduled according to specific time slots. Guests are required to arrive during their chosen time slot in order to gain access.

Please ensure approximately 2 hours between your chosen time slots to the Upper and Lower Belvedere for a smooth experience

Please note that it is not mandatory to carry ID proof if you have only purchased non-discounted tickets

There are gender-specific, disabled toilets on the ground floor.

The parking lot for people with disabilities is located right next to the entrance gate of the Upper Belvedere, Prinz Eugen-Straße 27.

Two elevators can be accessed via a few steps; a wheelchair ramp is available. The staff is always happy to help.

Some seating is available in the exhibition rooms. Museum stools can be borrowed from the cloakroom.

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome at the Belvedere museums.

A wheelchair is available from the cloakroom for visitors with mobility access requirements.

The passage through the park between the Upper and Lower Belvedere is not barrier-free.

Note: With your time slot ticket, you book a fixed access time to the museum. The duration of your stay is unlimited.

Lower Belvedere Palace

The BIP garage at Palais Schwarzenberg and the BIP garage at Schwarzenbergplatz offer discounted parking for a time window of 6 hours. When you validate your parking ticket at the ticket offices of the Lower or Upper Belvedere (see opening times), you can park for up to 6 hours for € 6 in one of the two garages that are open all day (midnight)

Note: With your time slot ticket, you book a fixed access time to the museum. The duration of your stay is unlimited.

Audio guides are available at the ticket counter in German, English, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Ukrainian.

Rental fees: Permanent collection tour €5.00.

For reasons of hygiene, we ask you to use personal headphones (standard 3.5 mm connection). As an alternative, disposable headphones are provided.

Explore the collection, enjoy audio tours from the comfort of your home, save favorite objects, and share them with your online community. You can explore the collection or scan an image on-site with your mobile phone and immerse yourself in the history of the works.

Please note that the Austrian sign language multimedia guides are only available free of charge on YouTube as videos on your mobile phone. A new edition of the multimedia guides is still being worked on.

Lower Belvedere Palace

An audio guide is available at the ticket counter in German and English, only for selected temporary exhibitions.
