We got there before 10 o'clock, and there were just a reasonable number of people there. An hour later, we would have ended up with a crowd. The Klimt collection is magnificent, but there are many other noteworthy paintings. We loved the Herman de Vries Lavender exhibit too. The Botanical Garden is huge and very relaxing.

We only had two days in Vienna, so getting into the museum quickly and without waiting in line was crucial. It saved us time, we really enjoyed the experience, and we even made it to our flight home! 😁

La visite avec l'audioguide est très intéressante. Je la conseille vivement. Nous avons passé 3 heures très agréables. Les tableaux baroques sont magnifiques.

Belvedere Palace was one of my favorite places to visit in Vienna. The palace is absolutely beautiful, and the gardens are lovely, especially on a sunny day. The art collection is also impressive, with Klimt’s “The Kiss” being the highlight. It can get quite busy, but the atmosphere is still great and there is plenty to see. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Vienna!

El lugar elegido en primer lugar fue muy acertado ya que es un palacio y conjunto barroco en un enclave precioso, la Historia hace que sea un referente en la capital vienesa. La visita no se hizo esperar y la entrada fue muy ágil sin esperas. El precio de la entrada es moderado y más barato que en la taquilla (donde hay que hacer cola). En el museo hay cuadros de artistas famosos por lo que el visitante va preparado para observarlos y recrearse en salas que ya de por sí son estupendas, llenas de decoración, destacando los mármoles de colores. Hay cuadros y composiciones de arte contemporáneo que son originales y que junto con la exposición temporal actual dedicada a Johann Baptist Lampi (con cuadros como la Venus) me llamaron enormemente la atención. En conjunto la visita fue totalmente satisfactoria

The Vienna Spanish Riding School Exercise session was very informative and worth the experience. The tickets were reasonably priced and easy to obtain through Headout. Photos of horses and riders were not permitted at the Vienna Spanish Riding during the session. Just a point to note that the Belvedere Palace and the School are not in the same locations and therefore if you purchase the combination tickets, and you are using public transport, you need to leave approximately an hour between each booking to allow you to travel to the next location and walk ( depending on which transport you choose) and especially if you are limited in walking. There is a tram that stops outside the Belvedere, however, due to road works on our visit, the route had changed slightly. Overall a nice day out.

Un palais incroyable par sa splendeur et sa magnificence. Exubérance des jardins et des statues, point de vue incroyable sur la ville : de l'extérieur deja, tout vous attiré ! Une fois à l'intérieur, la majesté des alles autant que les toiles exposées finissent de vous contraindre que la visite de ce site est définitivement une obligation lors de votre séjour à Vienne !

Getting started

Make your way to the Spanish Riding School and the Upper Belvedere Palace at your chosen time slots. Arrive at least 15 minutes early at each venue for ticket validation. Security checks apply, especially at the Belvedere, so allow a little buffer.

What to expect

Spanish Riding School Morning Exercise

Step inside the baroque Winter Riding School to observe the daily training of the Lipizzaners.

Watch young, often still dark stallions begin their schooling alongside fully trained white Lipizzaners refining advanced movements.

See loosening and strengthening exercises designed around each horse’s training level on the day.

Classical Viennese music sets the rhythm as riders and horses work through a real training session.

Upper Belvedere Palace

Explore one of Vienna’s most important museums, housed inside a former imperial palace.

Entry to the Upper Belvedere, home to Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss.

View works by Monet, Rodin, Van Gogh, and key Central European artists in the permanent collection.

Take in Baroque palace interiors that once served as a symbol of Habsburg power.

What to bring

A valid photo ID for ticket validation at both venues.

Wear comfortable shoes as both the Riding School and the Belvedere involve some walking and standing.

Your ticket (digital or printed) for smooth entry to the Spanish Riding School and the Upper Belvedere.

The royal box, first gallery, and second gallery are only accessible via stairs and aren’t suitable for wheelchair users.
