Really enjoyed the experience, the onboard commentary was very helpful with lots of interesting facts and information. the only improvement I can recommend is please clean the windscreens to make better access to the wonderful views.

Being able to hear the history about the area, the friendly staff, the countryside - everything really. The blankets were a great touch, so thank you. Definitely warm clothes are required as the temperature drops by roughly 3 degrees. I'd definitely do it again 🙂

Great experience , very unique , you can enjoy beautiful scenery and wildlife around you. Can get pretty cold but there is blankets supplied. At the other station there are toilets and tea/coffee and biscuits. Would definitely recommend for any age group.

Fantastic service. Well maintained turn around facility. Was a nice treat to have a Milo and cookies. A lot of the route is just covered in overgrown bushes, hedges, trees etc making the views limited for a good part of the journey.

What to bring

Bring a valid photo ID matching the name on your booking for verification at check-in.

What’s not allowed

Pets are not permitted, except for registered service animals.

Smoking, alcohol, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited on the premises and during the railcar journey.

Large bags, suitcases, and bulky items are not allowed on board the railcar.

All drivers must be at least 16 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure for a safety briefing and instructions.

The experience operates in most weather conditions; however, it may be canceled or rescheduled in the event of severe weather.

Safety instructions must be followed at all times. Failure to comply may result in removal from the experience without refund.

Restroom facilities are available at the departure point only.

The experience duration is approximately 2 hours, including return travel from Ngongotaha.
