Begin your day with hotel pickup in Baku and travel towards Gobustan in a comfortable vehicle with your professional guide. Your first stop is the mud volcanoes, followed by the Gobustan Rock Art Museum and several historic and natural landmarks across the Absheron Peninsula.

What to expect

• Mud Volcanoes: Head into the Gobustan area to see Azerbaijan's famous mud volcanoes. The country is home to a significant concentration of the world's mud volcanoes, creating a distinctive landscape of bubbling mud and escaping gases. Enjoy a Lada car experience as you explore the area.

• Gobustan Museum & Rocks: Visit the Gobustan Rock Art open-air museum and discover thousands of prehistoric carvings depicting people, animals, boats, warriors, dances, hunting scenes, and other aspects of ancient life. The rock art dates back thousands of years and offers a glimpse into Azerbaijan's prehistoric past.

• Bibi-Heybat Mosque: Stop at the historic Bibi-Heybat Mosque on the way back from Gobustan. The present-day mosque is a reconstruction of the original medieval structure and is an important example of Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan.

• Ateshgah Fire Temple: Visit the castle-like Fire Temple in Surakhani and learn about its religious history. The complex was associated with Hindu, Sikh, and Zoroastrian worship and features a central courtyard surrounded by small chambers.

• Yanardag: Continue to Yanardag, or Burning Mountain, on the Absheron Peninsula. See the natural gas flames that burn continuously on the hillside and learn about this unusual natural phenomenon.

• Heydar Aliyev Center: End your sightseeing with a stop at the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, designed by architect Zaha Hadid. Admire its sweeping modernist architecture and take photos from the outside. Since the visit takes place in the evening, after around 5–6pm, the center is viewed externally.
