From the instant we stepped inside, it felt like we’d entered another world — one made of light, color, and endless imagination. We wandered through glowing rooms where art moved around us, changed with our touch, and invited us to explore together. Watching her eyes light up as the walls bloomed, the floors shimmered, and the space transformed around us was pure magic. What made it even more special was experiencing it side by side — holding hands, laughing, getting lost (in the best way), and sharing that sense of wonder that reminds you to see the world through a child’s eyes again. Tokyo gave us so many incredible memories, but this one stands out as a beautiful reminder that the best experiences aren’t just about where you go — they’re about who you share them with.

My honest review: teamLab Tokyo was an experience I truly waited for—and it exceeded every expectation. After missing out last year, I booked my tickets early this time, knowing this was not something to miss. As a visitor from Indonesia, I was amazed by how art, technology, and human interaction come together so seamlessly. The Forest area became my favorite, where our colored drawings came to life and interacted with the space—turning imagination into something real. More than an exhibition, teamLab Tokyo gave my family and me a moment of pure wonder—one we’ll always remember long after leaving Japan.

The experience was very cool and the water and light exhibits in the beginning were my favorite. The orchids could have lifted faster. It was very disappointing that there weren't larger lockers or a bag check for larger backpacks and bags, at least not when we asked. My husband almost ruined his backpack trying to get it into one of the tiny lockers and no one would help or accomidate us.

My wife and I chose the 11:30 session. The line was well-controlled, and we quickly entered the complex. The first world that we chose was "water". We took off our shoes and socks - put them in a locker and went into this magical water world. The water itself was warm, and came up to mid-calf. There appeared to be fish swimming in the water, and creatures of all sizes and colors swimming around us. My wife asked me if they were real fish! There were mirrors on the walls so that it seemed like we were in this infinite space with lots of other people - being amazed at the variety of magical light creatures around us. My personal favorite was the world where we lay on the ground and looked up as if in a planetarium. We saw flowers passing ahead instead of stars. That was incredible. I enjoyed the world where we walked on platforms while being surrounded by imaginary creatures, swimming and walking all around us. I would recommend TeamLabs to anyone visiting Tokyo. For us, it took approximately two hours, and it was a very special two hours. We'd go from one magical world to the next with very little delay. Thank you very much to TeamLabs.

Dear team, dear future visitors, we visited TeamLab Planets in Tokyo on a Thursday morning. The 10 a.m. time slot was completely booked, but the crowds were still manageable. It should be noted that we had visited TeamLab Borderlands in Kyoto a week earlier and were therefore able to make a comparison. Personally, we liked Borderlands better with its predominantly light art design. That may be complaining on a high level, but anyone who has never been to one of the TeamLabs will still be thrilled by "Planets." Those with children will enjoy the "Athletic Forest," but as adults, we skipped that area entirely. We spent a good 90 minutes at TeamLab Planets. Personally, I don't see how you could spend half a day there. Otherwise, the concept is well thought out, of course. The staff and facilities are highly recommended.

What Enchanted Me Most I adored the total freedom—no map, just pure exploration, with digital waterfalls flowing from wall to wall and flowers blooming and dying at my touch. The infinite crystal rooms and the soft black hole were mind-blowing; I balanced on the squishy balls while lights danced around me, creating unique memories I shared on Instagram right away. Details from My Visit I arrived early (ticket via Klook, about 3800¥), stashed my bag in the free locker, and used the shoe covers for the mirrored areas—essential for my sensitive knees. Spent 2 incredible hours with no lines, and I recommend comfy pants and an open mind for the unexpected. This was my favorite activity in Tokyo so far, perfect for balancing fitness and wellness with cultural adventures. Heading back next month! 🌸✨

O has great expectativas for team labs, but it was beyond all of them. As a lighting designer i was sure i was gonna love it, but i went with the rest of my family that is not as fan of lights as i am and they all had a lot of fun, as its for all ages, from kids to teenagers young adults and older people. Up to two infants [children between 1 and 6 years old who have not yet entered elementary school] may ride free of charge if they are accompanied by a paying passenger who has a boarding pass.

Note: It is strongly advised to wear pants throughout the encounter as an area of the exhibit has a mirror surface. Wearing a skirt or wide-hemmed pants may cause your underwear to reflect on the mirror surface.
