I booked my Karnak Temple tickets through Headout and had a smooth experience overall. The booking process was quick, the mobile tickets were delivered within 30mins, and the entry instructions were clear and easy to follow. The skip the line option saved a lot of time, especially during busy hours. The temple itself is absolutely breathtaking the massive columns, ancient hieroglyphics, and overall scale of the complex are unforgettable. The Karnak and Luxor Temples combo is a great way to avoid waiting in line at the ticket office. I also recommend visiting Karnak first, at 8 a.m., before the huge crowds arrive, if you want to enjoy the peace and quiet and take photos with almost no one else around. Karnak Temple is magnificent. Next, visit Luxor Temple—smaller but still nice—and when you reach the end of your tour of Luxor Temple, you’ll find the Avenue of the Sphinxes right there, which is free and stretches about 2.7 km. If I have any negative advice, just be careful: drink prices at tourist attractions are exorbitant. Ice cream, canned drinks, and bottled drinks are a rip-off for foreigners—prices are double or even triple. I pretended to be Egyptian and still paid twice as much. Expensive. At Karnak, plan on paying 50 pounds per person to use the restroom. And like everywhere else, there are people who tell you they can help you take photos and then ask for money afterward. And when you give them $1, they ask for more.

We arrived at Luxor Temple around 9 a.m. and spent an hour there before walking along the Avenue of the Sphinxes to Karnak Temple, where we spent two hours. It wasn’t too crowded, but we expected that given the time of year. The sites are fantastic and very well preserved. I highly recommend booking online through this platform, which, as I recall, allows you to view your tickets even when you’re offline.
