The main entrance to Pompeii, Porta Marina is the closest to the Pompeii Scavi train station. This entrance is equipped with facilities like gift shops & information kiosks, making it popular, which also means it can be crowded.

Piazza Anfiteatro
Piazza Anfiteatro is the closest entrance to modern-day Pompeii and gives quick access to the archeological site’s prominent places like the amphitheater, and the forum. This entrance also has ATMs, bookstores, etc.

Piazza Esedra
Close to the Porta Marina entrance, Piazza Esedra is usually used by groups. Owing to the smaller number of facilities at this entrance, visitors avoid this entrance. However, on the bright side, this means less waiting time.

Cloak rooms are available free-of-cost at the main entrance at Porta Marina.

Mobility vehicles are allowed in Pompeii ruins. You can use them on the accessible routes in Pompeii. It can sometimes be a little bumpy though.
You can carry your children in strollers around Pompeii. However, you might have to do a bit of heavy lifting when paths turn bumpy.
