Get picked up from your hotel in Muscat and settle into the air-conditioned transportation for the drive toward Nizwa. Your guide introduces the flexible itinerary and confirms which of the three tour options you have selected. Bottled water is provided on board while you travel to your first stop for the day.

What to expect

Nizwa Friday Market, Nizwa Fort and Al Hamra ancient village

This option runs on Fridays and combines Nizwa’s key sites with a traditional village. Your day focuses on Nizwa Friday Market, Nizwa Fort, and Al Hamra ancient village.

At Nizwa Friday Market, you spend time walking through the trading area while your guide explains how the weekly market works and points out typical goods sold by local vendors.

Inside Nizwa Fort, your guided tour covers the main fortifications and interior spaces, with commentary about how the fort functioned and its role in the region.

In Al Hamra ancient village, you follow your guide along the old streets to observe the traditional architecture and layout of the settlement.

For this option, you are picked up and dropped off at your hotel and travel throughout the day in air-conditioned transportation.

Guided tours are provided at all sites on this option, and lunch is included except during the month of Ramadan.

Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle

This option runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays and focuses on historic forts and castles around Nizwa. The day is centred on Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle.

At Bahla Fort, your guide leads you through the main sections of the complex, highlighting structural features and viewpoints as you walk.

During your visit to Jabreen Castle, you move from room to room while your guide explains how the spaces were used and what distinguishes this castle from other regional sites.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are included for this option, with all transfers handled in air-conditioned transportation between Muscat and the forts.

You receive guided tours at both Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle, and lunch is part of the experience except during the month of Ramadan.

Oman Across Ages Museum and Nizwa Fort

This option runs on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and combines museum exploration with a fort visit. Your route includes the Oman Across Ages Museum and Nizwa Fort.

At the Oman Across Ages Museum, your guide takes you through selected sections, helping you navigate the exhibits so you can follow the progression of Omani history presented there.

During your time at Nizwa Fort on this option, you join a guided tour that covers key parts of the fort and connects what you see to themes introduced at the museum.

Hotel pickup and drop-off are provided, and all travel between Muscat, the museum, and Nizwa Fort is in air-conditioned transportation.

Guided tours are included at both the Oman Across Ages Museum and Nizwa Fort on this option, and you receive lunch except during the month of Ramadan.

Tue, Wed, Sun option: On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, you visit Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle.

Mon, Thu, Sat option: On Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, you visit Oman Across Ages Museum and Nizwa Fort.

Hotel transfers: All options include hotel pickup and drop-off from Muscat.
