The HeidelbergCARD brings key sights, museums, transport, and local discounts into one date-specific city card. You can choose a 1-day, 2-day, or 4-day option depending on the length of your stay, then use it on consecutive calendar days. Entry to Heidelberg Castle is included alongside access to select museums, including the University Museum, Student Prison, Kurpfälzisches Museum, Prinzhorn Collection, and vPST Ethnological Museum. You also receive a Heidelberg Guide and city map, and discounts with participating tours, restaurants, shops, museums, and cultural venues.

Exploring Heidelberg made easier with public transport

Public transport is included throughout your card’s validity, so you can travel on buses and trams as well as approved second-class RE, RB, and S-Bahn services in the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (VRN) network. The card also includes round-trip funicular travel to Heidelberg Castle and onward to Molkenkur, with one stop included, which helps connect your sightseeing plans without needing to juggle separate tickets for transport.

Seamless activation

• Select the date on which you want your HeidelbergCARD and book online. Note that your ticket is date-specific, personalized, and valid only on consecutive calendar days.

• Collect your castle ticket and Heidelberg Guide at the Tourist Information offices at Hauptbahnhof, Neckarmünzplatz, or Bismarckplatz.

• You can also collect the castle ticket at the castle visitor center ticket office or the Schloss and Kornmarkt funicular stations.

• Carry a valid ID document when using your card, as identification may be checked on public transport and at included attractions.

• You can use the HeidelbergCARD as a printable PDF, so a smartphone is not required.

• Validity: A card is valid from midnight to midnight. For example, a 2-day card that you begin using at 10am on Monday is valid until midnight on Tuesday.
