We thought we'd spend a half day at the museum and we were so intrigued with the exhibits we spent the day there, including a panoramic lunch. We enjoyed every part of it: the sniffing displays, the historical overview, vintner lectures on the differences around the globe, the science of growing grapes, grape stomping competition, and the lighted table multi-media experience.

I spent 3 hours here and could very easily have spent far longer. Fascinating permant exhibition Combining the visit with a tasting worked well even though I had to buy my own apéro snacks. Had I known I would have brought some with me. Gluten free options were very few

We were at Cité du Vin all day — from 10:30 to 5:00. The films were great. The exhibits were informative. And the addition of a winetasting at a reasonable price turned out to be a highlight in a room with 360 degree films. Lots of fun, highly informative, recommended to wine lovers and novices alike.

Tasting at the Belvedere

Wrap up your self-guided tour at the Belvedere, located on the 8th floor, 35 meters above ground. From here, take in a 360° panoramic view of Bordeaux and its surroundings. After soaking in the stunning vistas, indulge in local specialties from Bordeaux and beyond, as you reflect on the rich knowledge and cultural insights you’ve gained during your visit.
