Make your way into the mansion’s grand vestibule, whose cool stone walls whisper stories of centuries past while a sculpted ceiling draws your gaze upwards. Notice the subtle gradations in the mansion’s roofline, a signature of François Mansart, the famed architect who designed this masterpiece. Glide through the stairway, which forms the central part of the mansion and includes four flights of stairs skilfully engulfed by a triple dome. Keep an eye out for the putti figurines of Cupid and those that are a nod to Renaissance art and war.

A touch of royalty

The King's Apartment shimmers with sunlight streaming through tall windows, illuminating the furniture and paintings it houses. In a small oval cabinet, countless mirrors reflect your image in a kaleidoscope of light, adding a touch of French aristocracy. Move on to Count Artois' dining room, which is truly fit for a royal feast with its motif-decorated ceiling and intricately carved furniture. Don't miss the captivating medallion above the entrance, depicting two women garlanding the Greek god Priapus.
