The castle is very well preserved, and we were lucky enough to have a sunny day, so we were able to take sublime photos of the city from the ramparts. The headout application is very easy to use, and the presentation of the ticket photo enabled us to enter the castle quickly, without waiting. We'd be delighted to do it again with our family during a longer stay.

The castle is amazing, we both enjoyed the walks in the ramparts. Buying the tickets is really easy and retrieving it without having WiFi is a plus. Great experience

The ticketing was way easier than most and I completed the purchase while we walked from lunch to the entrance of the ramparts! Walking the ramparts was far more interesting than we expected. The views of the surrounding city and distant hills were breathtaking and it was easy to imagine spotting enemies cresting the horizon as they undoubtedly did many times in the past.

Entry with the online ticket was easy and saved a lot of time. The castle and the defensive walls are interesting and worthwhile. However, the rooms inside the castle are empty and have no exhibits. My visit took around 30 minutes in total.

I spent a lovely day in the heart of the city. It's obviously a place steeped in history, very well preserved, and it was magical to walk around, stroll around and eat an ice cream after going up and down all those stairs. I also enjoyed a vol au vent with seafood and a good local wine for dinner. However, I have one small comment to make to the guide: she was too quick, and made a derogatory remark if you answered a quiz wrong. I think we need to rethink the cheese, which is more fun, because we're not all historians.

Travel back in time to the 13th century and drink in views of the citadel that was once claimed by Romans, Visigoths, Saracens, and Crusaders! Look out for the massive 13th-century fortified walls, ramparts, watchtowers, and a castle that will bring this citadel’s remarkable history to life!

Step into the world of medieval trade and travel at the Cité de Carcassonne, much like the beloved board game, Carcassonne! Walk past the double-wall boasting 52 watchtowers, the Great Well, and the Count’s Castle, Château Comtal. Carcassonne was slated for demolition in the 19th century, but you can still walk the ramparts today, thanks to one of Europe’s largest restoration projects.
