Kona Manta Ray Sunset Snorkeling

Snorkel Hawaii’s Big Island by day and join a guided Kona manta ray night snorkel in one combined tour.

Getting started

Board your 40′ USCG-certified vessel and store any personal items in the available dry storage. After a brief orientation with your Lifeguard+CPR-certified captain and crew, pick up your snorkel gear and choose a wetsuit or flotation if you want them. You then head out from the harbor toward your daytime snorkeling area, with timing adjusted to that day’s sunset.

After the sun sets and timing aligns with changing light conditions, you head back out for the Kona manta ray night snorkel. The focus here is on being in the water after dark at a known manta ray site, using specialized snorkel equipment from the boat.

Features

• The boat’s shade canopy, bathroom, and warm fresh water shower are available before and after you enter the water at night so you can rinse off and change into the dry clothing you bring with you.

• Limited-range Rx masks are available by request, which can make it easier for some guests to see detail in the water during both the day and night portions of the tour.

• Times for the Kona manta ray night snorkel may shift with sunset, so the crew adjusts departure to match optimal conditions while keeping the day tour and manta ray night snorkel combined in a single outing.
