Astra Lumina was such a great experience! The whole night felt like stepping into another world. The lights, music and atmosphere made the walk genuinely magical, and there were so many moments where we just stopped to take it all in. We also loved the fire pits before heading in grabbing some food and a drink, sitting around the fire and soaking up the atmosphere was the perfect way to start the night. It was something completely different from the usual night out, and we came away with some awesome memories. Beautiful, immersive and seriously good fun. Definitely an experience worth doing!

Step into a nocturnal dreamscape at Astra Lumina, an immersive night walk at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Guided by cosmic light and sound, you’ll journey through a luminous rainforest, where light projections, glowing pathways, and soothing music transform nature into a magical starry spectacle.

Getting started

Arrive early at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and have your ticket ready for check-in, where staff will guide you to the Astra Lumina starting point. Then, make your way to the welcome area, where you can purchase snacks and light refreshments before going on your journey.

What to expect

Step into a celestial pathway: Follow 800 meters of illuminated trails and three newly built bridges, including a mystical drawbridge, as you weave through the night.

Nine immersive zones: Each section of Astra Lumina tells a different part of the stars’ journey to Earth with mesmerizing projections, shimmering lights, and theatrical soundscapes.

A universe of effects: Watch as over 2,000 lights flicker and shift around you, enhanced by fog, smoke, and laser displays.

What to bring

It is recommended to wear closed toed shoes as this is an outdoor experience.

What’s not allowed

Flash photography is not allowed.

Monopods, tripods, bikes, scooters, drones, glass, and alcohol are not allowed inside the venue.

Pets cannot tag along for this experience.

Accessibility

The temple is not wheelchair accessible due to the sloping trail and unsealed surfaces.

Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue. Please email the venue’s Guest Services 48 hours before arrival and provide proof of certification and current vaccination details for your assistance dog.

This experience may not be suitable for guests with sensory needs as the experience features dynamic lighting, music, and the use of artificial smoke and fog effects.
