Put on your Indiana Jones cap and explore Siem Reap’s most beautiful temples! To start off, you will be picked up from your hotel and journey your way to the mysterious Beng Mealea Temple, onboard a comfortable air-conditioned bus. Built in the 12th century by Suryavarman II, this temple is surrounded by a moat and is mostly consumed by the thick jungle. Some of this dense forest has been cut though, so you can still get a closer look at chiseled sandstone blocks, impressive wall carvings and even the well-preserved library of the collapsed central tower.
Next, make your way to Koh Ker, a 10th-century temple complex that was once the capital of the Angkorian Empire. The most famous monument here is the Prasat Krahom, which features a naga-flanked causeway, slender window columns, and stone carvings. While you’re here, your guide will take you along the stairs of the Prasat Thom so you can get magical views of the entire forest. At the end of your trip, treat yourself to a delicious Cambodian meal at your own expense before heading back to your hotel.
