Accessibility

• Wheelchair access: The train offers wheelchair access onboard. Platforms are cleared of snow, but some stops are remote drop-off points where temperatures can reach -40°F. Passengers who use wheelchairs should arrange assistance at their destination before travelling.

What's not allowed

• Smoking: Smoking is prohibited inside all train cars.

Additional information

• Seating: Your ticket includes a reserved Adventure Class seat in a single-level railcar, with forward-facing reclining seats, ample legroom, and space for luggage.

• Boarding details: Check your booking confirmation for station-specific check-in and boarding instructions.

• Baggage: Checked baggage is accepted at the Anchorage, Talkeetna, and Fairbanks depots only. At other stops, the onboard conductor and supervisor assist with luggage and boarding.

• Dining: Dining cars are available on all Alaska Railroad trains except the Hurricane Turn Train. Food and beverages are sold separately and are not included in the ticket price.

• Winter schedule: Weekend services operate through January, with selected midday departures available in February and March. Check the available departures for your chosen travel date.

• Weather-related changes: Severe weather can disrupt services or cause cancellations. Check the forecast before departure and ensure Alaska Railroad has a working phone number and email address for every guest so it can share service updates.

• Be prepared for winter conditions: Organize your transportation and lodging before traveling, especially when heading to remote locations.

• Please note: Staffed heated depots are available at only three stops: Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Talkeetna.
