Windsor Castle
Windsor Castle, founded in the 11th century by William the Conqueror, has served as the home of 40 monarchs and remains an active royal residence. This historic site is renowned for its architectural evolution and its role in British ceremonial life.

Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. St. George’s Chapel at Windsor is closed to visitors on Sundays and on February 28, 2026. On some days, the State Apartments may also be closed.

Windsor Castle will be completely closed from January 8-12, March 19, and June 14-15, 2026. The Semi-State Rooms will be closed on January 15, 2026.

If you upgrade to include train transfers, note that you must change trains at Slough. A full information pack containing your train and Windsor Castle ticket will be emailed to you 10 days before you travel.
