The Yeoman Guard was fantastic, very entertaining whilst being very informative. Jay was our initial guide, he was knowledgeable and also entertaining for the shrt time that he was with us. This seemed a little strange as he walked us down to the enterance, gave us a quick rundown on the way there, then left us after handing us over to the Beefeater.

Eine sehr kompetente, freundliche und lustige Guide(in) informierte, zeigte was es an interessanten Infos zu und rund um dem Tower of London zu sagen gibt. Art und Umfang ihrer Ausführungen waren einfach grossartig. Im Tower selbst übergab sie uns an einen Beafeater, der mit Augenzwickern und einem bunten und für alle verständlichen Vortrag Geschichte und Geschichten zum Tower zum Besten gab. Beide Guides waren grossartig, mitreissend und lassen uns gerne wieder kommen.

Over all a good Tour that was pretty informative, however nothing we could have done on our own. Only the 10 minutes with a Beefeater was out of the ordinary and in the end definitely Not worth the high price that was paid for a party of four.

The guide was fantastic. Great humor and very nice storytelling. Meeting the yeoman privately (2 groups) was also very nice.

Your journey begins with a short guided introduction by a local English-speaking guide before you meet a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater). These guardians of the Tower are not only ceremonial figures but also active-duty members of the military with years of service. Learn about their prestigious role, centuries-old traditions, and daily lives within the Tower walls, making for an enlightening and engaging start to your tour.

What to expect

Tower of London

Choose the early-morning tour to gain access to the Tower before the crowds and early access to the Jewel House, getting an up-close look at the Crown Jewels before doors open to the public. Or choose the afternoon tour and meet your guide and a Beefeater for an engaging introduction to the Tower’s rich history and daily rituals.

What’s not allowed

Photography is allowed in most areas, except the Jewel House and the Chapel of St. John.

Luggage, large bags, tripods, selfie sticks, and other photographic or recording equipment are not allowed in this experience.

Smoking, eating, and drinking are not allowed.

Accessibility

This experience is partially wheelchair and pram/stroller accessible.

Complimentary adult carer/companion tickets can be obtained on the day of your visit upon presentation of proof of supporting documents (such as a Blue Badge, Freedom Pass, DLA letter or PIP letter) at the Ticket Office.

Your guide dogs are welcome at the venue.

The Crown Jewels are a working collection and as a consequence, the display is subject to change without prior notice due to security reasons.

Your ticket is valid for one entry only. No re-entry is permitted.

Some Beefeater meet and greets take place outside the King’s House, a restricted area normally off-limits to the public.

The early-morning tours start at 8:15am or 8:30am, depending on the tour provider. Please check your booking voucher so you don’t arrive early or late.

The afternoon experience is only available on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

You will have self-guided time inside the Tower of London after the initial guided and meet & greet portion.

Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.
