Ou visit to the Shard turned into an unusual experience. We enjoyed the lovely views & Chris gave a very entertaining talk about the building. Then my husband suddenly felt ill & collapsed onto the floor, Chris & your helpful staff were wonderful, & other visitors came to our aid. Chris called for an ambulance, as my husband Mike blacked out again. I explained he is group 2 diabetic, but it was a worrying experience & Mike has never blacked out like it before. Chris came with us to the ambulance, we are so grateful for his help. The ambulance ladies were so kind & caring & took us to St Thomas's Hospital. & the doctors & all staff & nurses did many tests during the five hours we were there Mike received excellent care . Plus also very caring with me as it was a worrying experience, but after many tests Mike was allowed home, he had become dehydrated, & also discovered he has a little heart problem, but I am pleased to say it is not too serious & can be treated. Oh it has been an unexpected experience visiting the Shard, but we have kindly been given two complimentary tickets, for us to return again in the future. We wish to say A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO CHRIS & ALL YOUR SHARD STAFF FOR THEIR KIND CARING HELP. PLUS BIG THANK YOU TO THE AMBULANCE LADIES & ALL THE WONDERFUL CARING DOCTORS NURSES & STAFF AT ST THOMAS'S HOSPITAL. . Also to say Mike feels much better today . With many thanks again Carole & Michael Shaw

Früh da sein hilft - aber nur wenn man das Ticket vorher bucht. Die Schlange beim Verlassen des Towers war wirklich sehr lang... Es gibt jede Menge Treppen zu bewältigen. Für Kinder gibt es eine Stempeljagd (warum nur für Kinder?) an verschiedenen Stellen der Türme. Highlight war natürlich der Glasboden, dessen Betreten aber durchaus Überwindung kostet. Zum Maschinenraum ist es ein Stückchen aus den Türmen raus einmal ums Eck'. Da kann man sich an Konstruktions- und Ingenieurskunst berauschen. Der Geruch nach Schmieröl und die hochglanzpolierten Teile haben schon was und geben auch gute Fotomotive her.

Die Buchung war sehr einfach. Ich bekam eine Whatsapp mit dem Ticket. An der Schlange vor dem Eingang ist ein Schild mit der Uhrzeit welcher Timeslot nun an der Reihe ist. Trotz Osterferien haben wir nicht lange gewartet. Es werden immer nur paar Leute rein gelassen, somit hat man drinnen genug Platz. Man kann in eigenem Tempo dort durch. Es gibt Toiletten drinnen in den Türmen. Auch wird eine Audio Tour kostenlos angeboten. Diese ist sehr interessant. Also vergesst eure Kopfhöhrer nicht.

Einfacher und kostengünstigerer Onlineticketkauf brachte uns in die 69. Etage des Shard. Bei herrlichem Sonnenschein konnten wir dann London aus der Vogelperspektive erkunden Überraschenderweise tauchte dann noch Howard, der London Expert des The Shard auf und erklärte uns Details, verbunden mit Geheimtipps seiner Geburtsstadt. Sein Enthusiasmus über seine Stadt war das Sahnehäubchen dieser Besichtigung.

Fui con mi mujer y mis dos hijos a las 18:00 h para ver el atardecer de Londres a vista de pájaro. Un cambio del tono de una luz diurna que se iba apagando y que fue sustituida por las luces nocturnas de la ciudad. Todo un espectáculo ver los lugares que hemos visitado desde una perspectiva tan especial. Algo dificil de olvidar!!... un maravilloso recuerdo!!

Ate at the Vault then visited the bridge and engine room. My elder brother has mobility issues and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I have been over the bridge many times but great to see it from other angles. There is a lift to get from the bridge to the engine room level and back. Just ask the staff.

Mit eines der coolsten Erlebnisse in London. Der Aufgang im Turm und die anschließende Aussicht ist einfach genial und sehr informativ. Ein Wahrzeichen das auf jeden Fall einen Besuch Wert ist. Und für Technikbegeisterte ist der Maschinenraum mit den alten Dampfmaschinen ein absolutes must see.
