New Orleans - we took in the evening jazz dinner cruise. The 3 course meal was a reasonable value (buffet for main course) offering fried chicken strips, roast beef, several seafood dishes, potatoes, and more. Bread pudding for dessert and green salad served at your table. We took the early seating for dinner which gave us plenty of evening/sunset deck time. Jazz musicians were super. Thoroughly enjoyed the final night in New Orleans, highly recommend the Natchez

Me and my boyfriend enjoyed this experience great dine in dinner with amazing all you can eat food and a great site seeing water experience with great history about New Orleans included!! We will definitely be coming again next year for our 2nd anniversary

Enjoyed the family experience. Good service and food. Jazz band offered a musical and calm viewing of the Mississippi River. Nice touch with the engine room viewing with photos and information.

Great food, great descriptions of shoreline buildings and businesses with great music after dark were enjoyed. At sunset we enjoyed the "green" blip as the sun sunk into the ocean. Thanks so much for the expertise of the crew who were very pleasant, professional and personable.

We really enjoyed the cruise and seeing the city lights. The narrator was very informative also. The food though was below standard we felt. There wasn't even enough fried chicken for everyone.

Whenever I have friends visiting, The Steamboat Nacthez is a must. Sometimes we do the dinner, sometimes just the crusise. The sites and sounds are so much fun. I absolutely love the guy that does the narration. He's just like everyone's grandpa. The staff is always friendly, the food and drinks are really good and the house band is one of the best. I highly recommend taking a cruise with them

The hearty buffet dinner served on board includes servings of Tossed Salad Du Jour, Creole Creamed Spinach, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, and more.

Over all I enjoy the ride the water the view the staff was very friendly but I didn't like the gumbo it was horrible and for the price I paid I feel like we should've waited on I shouldn't had to serve my own food

What to Bring

Shirts and shoes are a must for all cruises. If you're joining the Dinner Jazz Cruise, opt for “dressy casual.” Skip the jeans and go for dress pants, a skirt, or a nice blouse. Guys, a collared shirt—button-down or polo—adds a polished touch.

What’s Not Allowed

This is a smoke-free cruise. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the boat, inside or out.

Accessibility

The cruise is fully wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Guide dogs are more than welcome aboard.

Additional Information

Both the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will alternate departures depending on scheduling needs and private events until March 2026, when they’ll adopt individual timetables. Either way, you'll still enjoy two hours of live jazz, cocktails, and Crescent City charm—best experienced from the top deck of your steamboat.

Boarding starts 1 hour before departure, so get there on time for a relaxed check-in.

If you're 21 or older, you can grab your beverages at the counter. Bring along your photo ID with birthdate, as required by Louisiana law.
