5/5 Stars – An Unforgettable Day at Neuschwanstein with Stephen! If you are planning a trip to Neuschwanstein Castle, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Stephen! He was, without a doubt, an incredible guide who made our entire experience truly unforgettable. Stephen is a master storyteller. Rather than just repeating dry facts, he brought the history of King Ludwig II and the castle to life with fascinating, engaging stories that kept us hooked from start to finish. On the walk up to the castle, he made sure we didn’t miss a thing—showing us all the best hidden viewpoints, scenic stops, and photo spots that we definitely would have overlooked on our own. His enthusiasm, warm energy, and deep knowledge made the whole day effortless and fun. Thank you, Stephen, for such a fantastic tour! Highly recommended to anyone visiting!

We loved our tour with Stephen, an amazing guide who had a fantastic energy and plenty of interesting stories to share. Much more interesting than the audioguide rushed tour inside the palace. Thanks to him he made this a true appreciative experience and we actually learned many things about the castle and Ludwig. Would recommend him to anyone wanting to visit the castle.

The tour was very well organized: - pick-up point was clearly visible - we were guided to the proper bus quickly - our tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and kept to the schedule - the bus was comfortable for the entire day - the schedule was packed but there was enough time for the guided tours and some exploration - everything went as it should go

Stephen was an amazing tour guide who was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and kept things moving at a good pace. He was happy to answer any questions we had and I learned a lot about King Ludwig and his castles! We particularly enjoyed the story about the dragon with the crown of the Hohenschwangau castle on his head

Our guide, Stephen, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and various tales of yore!! We learnt so much!! Meeting place was so convenient and much appreciated the bus up to the bridge and horse & cart down. A truly wonderful day. Massive shout out to Stephen!! P.S. I have been twice before and never learnt as much as this time.

Optional add-ons

Travel comfortably with round-trip transfers from Munich, available by AC bus (Apr-Dec) or train (Jan-Mar). For a scenic experience, start your journey with a pick-up from Hohenschwangau Village, located at the foot of the castle. What's not allowed

Photography and animals, including service animals.

You are not allowed to drive up to the castle in a personal car.

Accessibility

Neuschwanstein Castle offers an elevator for wheelchair access. To ensure availability, we recommend you reserve it in advance.

The hiking trail to the castle is paved and partly very steep. It's best to use the horse carriage transport where any regular-sized, foldable wheelchair can be stowed in the trunk of the carriage. Please note that the carriages do not have a ramp.
