Begin your day at Fremantle, where you’ll board a high-speed ferry to Rottnest Island. Show your ticket at the ferry terminal, then collect your bike upon arrival on the island. For Jewel Cave, arrive at the visitor center near Augusta, meet your guide at the main entrance, and check in before heading underground.

The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour and covers three underground chambers.

The cave is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except on Christmas Day.

An optional self-guided Karri forest walk is available after your cave tour.

Group sizes may be large during peak times; booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially during school holidays and weekends.

Children and older adults are welcome but should be comfortable with stairs and a moderate walking pace.

Guide dogs are allowed onboard. However, as Rottnest Island is an A-Class reserve, you should contact the rangers there for further advice on service dog allowance.

All passengers must arrive at the terminal at least 30 minutes before departure. If you are traveling with no luggage or freight and have e-tickets or QR codes, please make your way straight to the boarding gate. Final boarding is 5 minutes before departure after which the vessel gangways are removed to ensure that the vessel departs by the stated time.
