The Cairns Aquarium was a fantastic experience from start to finish, showcasing an impressive and diverse range of marine life. There was so much variety in the species on display that every section felt interesting and engaging. Even though the aquarium was busy, it was well laid out and never felt overcrowded, making it easy to explore at a relaxed pace. The turtle rehabilitation add-on was a definite highlight of the visit — incredibly informative and rewarding, and it added a meaningful, hands-on element that made the whole experience even more memorable.

This visit to the Cairns Aquarium was awesome, the Turtle experience was so enlightening and a highlight of our holiday in FNQ. The tanks and unbelievable amount of fish were a sight to see and we would recommend all who visit Cairns spent a day at the Aquarium 👍👍👍

The turtle hospital tour was incredible! Such a great experience and so moving to know that the funds for the tour go directly to the turtle rehabilitation centre. The lady who volunteers her time there is so passionate and her work is amazing!

Saw so many different animas loved the turtle tour was amazing since I love the marine life I knew the cairns aquarium would have been the place to go and turtles being my favourite animal I just had to go to the turtle tour I love how they rescue them

A variety of fish tanks with clear visibility of fish/ creatures. Having also snorkelled on the reef a couple of times, a great set of representations, on land. Variety of animals, including ones from the rainforest.and river systems/ mangrove swamps...also a great section. Loved the turtle hospital. A great facility with a lovely, friendly, passionate, informed guide. Keep up the good work!

Show your mobile or printed ticket at the Cairns Aquarium entrance. Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled Turtle Hospital Tour. Staff will guide you to the exhibits and confirm your tour time.

What's not allowed

Pets, outside food and drink, taking photos for commercial use without permission, flash photography, and smoking in non-designated areas are not allowed.

Flash photography, touching turtles, or making loud noises that may disturb them are not allowed on the Turtle Hospital Tour.

No onsite parking; 3-hour free street parking available nearby.

Rental lockers are available for a small fee.
