- Friendly staff, knowledgeable, professional equipment, patient. - trip actually take 14 hrs or even more. Lots of activity planned. Even tour guide take more location than described. They make it memorable. 100% recommended - Driver George is a nice guy, patient, friendly, calm. He did not let us miss any experience. Take the bus on all possible options. And multiple breaks - local guide (Freideriki) knows her job well, know the history, location and belongs to audio equipment. She took pictures for all, even in different position and pose. Big thanks for ur hospitality. - at some point, we were tired; but Freideriki did not let us miss any experience. She made it memorable. Thanks to the whole team. Even they spend 1 hr more with the big group and touches all location. Improvment: - it is difficult to find the bus in the dark. Put a location name in front. - restaurant has few options for vegiterian. That we did not like so much.

The Meteora one day trip from Athens was absolutely amazing. Originally we did not want to book it because we thought that a tour of 13 hours would just exhaust us and we would therefore not enjoy it. Thank God we finally decided to go. From the beginning till the end it was just perfect. Our bus driver Panos was extremely professional and although the road I. Meteora was a real challenge, he made it look easy. And what can I say about our guide Vaso, not only did she enlighten us with her deep knowledge of the area, but she was very helpful, joyful and a great photographer with a very nice sense of humour. Meteora is an absolutely amazing experience, the atmosphere, the monasteries, the views is just a must that nobody should miss. I had my doubts whether to include the lunch and was glad I did because it was real value for money !

The bus and trip went extremely smoothly from the beginning. This was probably my favorite day in Greece. I would recommend the lunch as we got a plentiful lunch which you could choose from 12 different options on top of a greek salad and water. The guide Freideriki was very joyful and genuinely interested in providing insight about each site on top of the audio guide. The only negative thing is that they advertise entry to ANY 2 open monasteries, however in actuality the guide chooses the 2 monasteries you will all collectively visit so if you want to go to a specific one, I would not book this trip. However in our case they 2 monasteries were very nice either way and I'm sure all 6 are.

Una experiencia preciosa. Los monasterios son fascinantes y el paisaje espectacular. La ruta desde atenas hasta Meter un poco larga pero no hay opción ya que esta bastante lejos. La guía y el chofer muy amables, simpáticos e involucrados ya que había personas mayores con dificultades. Mi hijo y yo volveríamos a repetir la experiencia.

Apesar de cansativo pelas 14 horas de duração (saimos as 7 da manhã e voltamos as 21 horas), entregou o que foi prometido. Dia espetacular em Meteora, vimos tudo que foi anunciado com tempo razoável, almoço bem bom e a guia excelente Frederik (guia local muito organizada, levou o grupo bem confuso com maestria). PARABÉNS!!!!

Vale toma la pena tomar este tour, recomendado 100%. Los Monasterios son cada uno unas obras de arte, con una paz, espiritualidad y misticismo impresionantes, rodeados de unos paisajes increíbles. Los buses son muy cómodos, y el paisaje a lo largo de la carretera es muy bonito. Bien organizado

What to bring

Bring cash for any small purchases.

Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with a good grip. Trails and monastery steps can be uneven and steep.

Carry water and a light snack, especially during the summer months (June to August).

Don’t forget earphones and a fully charged smartphone if you plan to use the audio guide during your visit.

A modest dress code is strictly enforced at all monasteries. Men should wear long pants, while women must wear long skirts and cover their shoulders. Wrap skirts and shawls are available at the entrance if needed.

What's not allowed

Photography is welcome in outdoor areas, but taking pictures inside churches, or of monks and nuns, is not permitted.

Drone use is strictly forbidden unless you have special permission.

Accessibility

Most of Meteora’s sites are not wheelchair-friendly, as all monasteries involve climbing stairs or navigating inclined paths.

For visitors with limited mobility, St. Stephen’s Monastery offers the easiest access, with a level, paved path and minimal steps.

Additional information

4 pick-up points are available: Melina Mercouri Monument Plaka (at 7am), Greek Parliament (at 7:05am), Omonoia Square (at 7:15am), and Karaiskaki Square (at 7:25am).

Toilets are available at larger monasteries like Great Meteoron, Varlaam, and St. Stephen’s. A small tip is often expected when using them.
