Great experience. The only thing I'd improve is the audio guide. The audio guide for the leaning tower was fantastic but the audio guide for the cathedral, baptistery and cemetery was a little basic

Good morning, I’ve known Pisa for many, many years. In fact, in 1972 (I’m 74 years old), I did my military service between Pisa and Livorno as a paratrooper with the FOLGORE,but seeing Pisa is always a delight for me, and doing so with my wife Linda, my sweet life partner, made it even more wonderful. Your service made our day so much easier, simplifying everything and saving us a lot of time, so I want to thank you for that.Just a quick side note: this trip has brought back so many emotional and beautiful memories that I thought were lost. I recommend taking tickets just for the tower. Which was amazing! The view from it was incredible. Also take good shoes for this visit.

Getting started

Begin your journey at the heart of Pisa by making your way to Piazza del Duomo, 56126 Pisa PI, Italy, the square that houses the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the magnificent Pisa Cathedral. Arrive a few minutes before your scheduled entry time and display your ticket at the entrance near the Porta Santa Maria, the main gateway to the square.

Timed entry to the Leaning Tower: Enter at your selected time and climb the iconic 12th-century bell tower at your own pace, taking in its unique tilt and panoramic views from the top.

Self-paced access to Pisa Cathedral: Visit the cathedral after your tower climb and explore its grand Romanesque interiors, intricate marble details, and historic artworks without a guided schedule.

What's not allowed

To preserve the tower, please refrain from bringing metal objects, bags, or containers.

Accessibility

The climb involves 273 steep steps with no elevators, making it inaccessible to wheelchair users and guests with cardiovascular issues.

Children under 8 cannot climb, and those aged 8–18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Additional information

Remember to wear modest clothing covering knees and shoulders as the visit includes entry to the Cathedral.

Entry tickets are timed to manage crowds; late arrivals will not be allowed.

If your chosen slot is unavailable, you’ll get a new time within one hour. Tower climbs are limited to 30 minutes to manage visitor flow.

The selected date and time apply only to the Tower; other monuments can be visited the same day or within a year from the chosen date.

Cathedral entry is free but requires a timed pass if visited alone; it is automatically included with any Pisa Complex ticket, including Tower entry.
