We mainly used the Berlin Welcome Card to travel by public transport. It's great that you can make unlimited use of all public transport and don't have to keep buying tickets. I was also attracted by the discounts on museums and other attractions. But in the end, we didn't make use of them. When purchasing the Berlin Welcome Card, I found the accompanying information a bit unclear. For example, it said that an email with tickets would be sent. These were already in the Headout app. And for public transport, print in A4 format. Validate before your first trip. A4 does not fit in the validation machine. And I had the card for 3 days with the start and end dates and times already printed on it. This caused some confusion. But I definitely recommend the card.

We only used the welcome card to get around Berlin on public transportation, which went super smoothly. We went for a 2-hour walking tour of the Third Reich and the cold war in Berlin, in the afternoon we did a boat trip on the Spree and saw the city from the other side and in the evening we enjoyed a concert at the Uber Arena. Public transportation in Berlin is top notch and easy to get around the city and its outskirts smoothly.

Traveling via public transport in Berlin is ideal. You don't have to wait long anywhere. The longest wait for the next streetcar or subway was only 5 minutes. Moreover, with your OV ticket you also get discounts at many of the attractions in Berlin that you must have seen such as the fernsehturm but also the Berliner Dom. the Reichstag and much more. Highly recommended. You are everywhere in no time and save money and time.

the welcome card enabled us to see Berlin without any problems. We could use the metro, bus and train without having to look for our ticket every time. There were no checkpoints like in Paris, for example, which was very pleasant. For a week we didn't see a single checkpoint? BRAVO!!!

Validity:

The validity of online tickets is based on the date (and time, for the 48-hour and 72-hour variants) specified on the ticket. The 4/5/6-day tickets expire at midnight on the final day of their validity.

The 4/5/6-day cards are valid depending on the calendar days you select. If you’ve opted for a 4-day card and you use the ticket at any time on Wednesday, then the Berlin WelcomeCard and public transport ticket are valid until midnight on Saturday.

The 48/72-hour tickets are valid for exactly 48/72 hours from the time selected during booking. For example, if you’ve picked the 72-hour card and selected your time slot as 8:30am on Monday, it will be valid until 8:29am on the following Thursday.

Additional Information

Children between the ages of 6 and 14 can travel free on an adult’s ticket (3 kids per adult ticket). Any number of children below 6 years of age can travel on public transport for free.

The Berlin WelcomeCard is valid during the period indicated on the ticket and must be displayed as an A4 printout.

The Berlin Brandenburg (BER) airport, as well as the city of Potsdam, are in the tariff area C. The tariff zones A and B cover the Berlin city area. So if you need to get to the airport or Potsdam, purchase the Berlin WelcomeCard Zone ABC. An extension of the Berlin WelcomeCard AB with a connecting ticket C is not possible.

Each attraction or landmark can be visited only once with this card.

The Berlin WelcomeCard as an online ticket is valid during the period indicated on the ticket.
