Outside the museum (goodness knows what happens on cold wet days) we had to line up with military precision or like prisoners in a camp and wait for our allotted time for entry came. Then the assistance inside the Belvedere barked at us about putting bags in the lockers which was causing a problem as there was great kerfuffles over not having the right change for the lockers. The wonderfully curated art more than made up for these petty indignities. A thrill to see these paintings some of the very famous close up and see the brush work almost like seeing the artist at work. The narrative of late nineteenth century western art and the explosion of creativity the beginning of the twentieth century was palpably laid out. Wow...

Upper palace is amazing, staff are helpful and polite. Well worth the visit. Fabulous architecture. The ceilings inside are gorgeous ( big fan of looking up). Paintings galore and some fab sculpture. Spent hours there. Dont bother with the lower palace. Some of the staff are outright rude and frankly theres not much to see. One corridor of paintings, 2 rooms and some medieval art in the stables. Thats all. Not worth the entry fee or the walk, but must say the fountains en route are lovely so the walk wasnt a total loss.

Absolutely must-visit art gallery, beautiful complex and garden. I purchased the ticket for the upper fine view. The only downside was that it seemed from the ticket that the audio guide was included, instead once you got there they were to be purchased separately for a cost of 5 euros each. I recommend that you take them to better benefit from the visit.

Everything was great, since buying the tickets, getting there, get into the museum, The only thing that I didn't liked was that I bought tickets for the 5:00 o'clock entrance and at 6:00 they were getting me out. There was a lot to see and I needed to run out !!! Don't think that they close doors at 6:00. At 6:00 they get you out. 😩

We went to the appointment half an hour early, there was a long queue, but the entrance time was respected perfectly, I would say very good organization. The visit to the museum is absolutely worth it , seeing so many beautiful works all together is definitely an 'experience to be had.

Was ordered combi tickets but during tickets issues was mistaken with 1 ticket of booking. 1 day was booked for 7th another for 8th October. When I arrived to museum staff informed me that 1 ticket was expired already. Your support team assisted to me and issued another ticket 1 hour later

I think out of all the places in Vienna, Upper Belvedere is the best value for money. Amazing art - needless to say, enough Klimt for a lifetime. Other surprises too like the Medieval Collection - and other impressionist paintings - even a sneaky Van Gogh that I was not aware of housed there!

The palace as a palace isn't that great. When you think of palaces you think about places like Schönbrunn. Belvedere was a different experience. More like a museum. Still nice, but had higher expectations.
  • A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Belvedere Palace is also the site of the Austrian State Treaty. Consisting of two palaces, the Upper and Lower Belvedere, and extensive gardens the unique complex is one of the world's most supreme specimens of a Baroque architectural ensemble.

    The Upper Belvedere

For an artistic retreat, the Upper Belvedere is the perfect getaway! The Upper Belvedere is one of the most prominent museums across the globe, with famous art collections dating back to the Middle Ages. Highlights include the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt paintings (including The Kiss and Judith), famous works from the periods of Austrian Baroque, French Impressionism, Viennese Biedermeier, and from Vienna around 1900. You can also admire works by Austrian artists like Rueland Frueauf the Elder, Elena Luksch-Makowsky, and Helene Funke, apart from international artists like Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Auguste Rodin.

    The Lower Belvedere

Calling all history lovers, the Lower Belvedere is a treasure trove that will take you back in time! Located in Vienna, the majestic Lower Belvedere Palace is a magnificent 18th-century structure that now serves as an exhibition center. Focusing on Austrian artists within an international context and showcasing pivotal works of Western art history, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was originally built for the diplomat and collector Prince Eugene of Savoy to admire his exceptional Baroque architecture collection. Opt for the direct entry ticket to either Upper or Lower Belvedere Palace, to save time and choose what you'd like to see.
