Bring water and snacks, as there are no on-site cafés or shops.

Consider renting an audio guide or joining a guided tour for richer historical context, especially if you prefer English commentary.

Wear comfortable shoes, as the camp grounds are extensive and mostly outdoors.

Photography is allowed, but be mindful and respectful, especially in sensitive areas like the gas chamber and crematorium.

Prepare for an emotionally intense experience; some exhibits may be distressing, particularly for younger visitors.

About Stutthof Concentration Camp

Stutthof Concentration Camp holds an important place in World War II history and Holocaust remembrance. As one of the earliest concentration camps established by the Nazi regime, Stutthof offers insight into the early development of the camp system and its history, making it a significant destination when exploring Poland’s wartime past.

Did you know?

Stutthof was the first Nazi concentration camp established outside Germany, operating from 1939 to 1945.

An estimated 110,000–115,000 people were held at Stutthof and its satellite camps during its operation, and roughly 65,000 of them lost their lives as a result of brutal conditions.

The camp’s infamous Death Gate was the main entrance through which prisoners were brought into Stutthof.

You'll see a massive pile of prisoners’ shoes displayed near the entrance exhibition huts, symbolizing the scale of loss.

The brick gas chamber and adjacent crematorium at Stutthof remain part of the preserved site, where you can see the structure as it stands today and the nearby ovens that were used during the camp’s operation.
